Metaal Cracks Gomez Casillas' Aces

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Jose Casillas
Jose Casillas

There were already around 100,000 in the middle on a board of 89103 when Govert Metaal bet 20,000 from the big blind and Jose Gomez Casillas raised to 82,500 from the hijack. Metaal then shoved around 150,000, and Gomez Casillas called.

Govert Metaal: 88 All in
Jose Gomez Casillas: AA

Metaal had flopped a set, but needed to fade aces and hearts on the river as Gomez Casillas had the nut flush draw. The 2 river was clean for Metaal, and he doubled up.

"Always a Sweat" For Bendinelli in Big Pot Against Radicchi

Level 11 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Giuliano Bendinelli
Giuliano Bendinelli

Vlad Darie raised to 6,000 under the gun and Giuliano Bendinelli three-bet to 15,000 in middle position. Andrea Radicchi then four-bet to 37,000 on the button and Darie folded, but Bendinelli then five-bet to 80,000. Radicchi spent a few minutes in the tank before moving all in for 230,000, and Bendinelli snap-called.

Andrea Radicchi: AK All in
Giuliano Bendinelli: KK

Bendinelli showed down two kings, while Radicchi was left looking for an ace in a massive pot. The 642 flop was no help, but Radicchi spiked the A on the turn to take the lead. The river, though, was the 10 and Bendinelli made a flush to win the pot and send Radicchi to the rail.

"Always a sweat," Bendinelli said.

Tzur Levy opened the button to 7,000 and was met by a three-bet to 21,000 from Dong He out of the small blind. Levy called.

He continued on the 2910 flop with a bet of 24,000. Again, Levy called.

The 3 hit the turn and He opted to check. Levy placed out a bet, causing He to immediately return his cards to the dealer and forfeit the pot to Levy.

Pavel Binar
Pavel Binar

Aleksandro Horn raised from early position before Pavel Binar jammed for 31,500 from the blinds. Horn made the call and the cards were tabled.

Pavel Binar: KJ All in
Aleksandro Horn: A8

Horn was slightly ahead with ace-high, but that changed on the JQ9 flop as Binar spiked a jack. Both players improved to straights when the 10 rolled off on the turn, although Binar was out in front with the higher straight. The 3 river was clean for Binar and he survived elimination.

Last year at King’s Resort, Simone Andrian took down the coveted 2024 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event bracelet and a career-best score of €1,300,000.

Andrian became the 15th player in history to win the WSOPE Main Event, triumphing over a field of 768 entrants. He ultimately defeated Urmo Velvelt in a gripping heads-up duel that lasted over three hours and saw the chip lead change hands multiple times.

“It’s amazing. By far the biggest score of my career. I couldn’t be more happy” he said following his victory. "I’ve been playing here a lot and to have that kind of score here feels special.”
