Asmolov Takes it Down on the Flop

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Timofey Asmolov came in with a raise to 35,000 from middle position with Heinz Traut calling on the button, and Darius Samual defended his big blind.

After it checked to Asmolov on the Q28 flop, he fired out a continuation-bet of 35,000. This was enough to get Traut and Samual to fold, and Asmolov picked up the pot.

Vaaraniemi Has to Sweat Top Set

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Gerald Karlic moved all in from the small blind and Elias Vaaraniemi took one peek at his cards in the big blind before calling for 105,000.

Elias Vaaraniemi: KK All in
Gerald Karlic: A10

The AK7 flop gave Karlic a pair of aces, but Vaaraniemi had hit a set. The 8 turn gave Karlic outs to a flush draw, but he missed the 6 river and Vaaraniemi doubled up.

"It's never easy," tablemate Alkiviadis Stamatis said.

Nijmeijer Chips Up Near the Bubble

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Jan-Willem Nijmeijer raised to 33,000 from an early position and Silviu Baltateanu in the small blind had to interrupt his phone session to fold, was then reprimanded by the dealer not do proceed with it while still involved in a hand. Marek Tomes was in the big blind and opted to come along to the 932 flop.

Tomes check-called for 25,000 and checked the 7 on the turn. Nijmeijer now bet 65,000 and that won the pot without further resistance.

Aleksandar Tomovic
Aleksandar Tomovic

Aleksandar Tomovic moved all in from the cutoff for 113,000, and action folded to Serkan Kuru in the big blind.

He peeled one card, and said "It's good." He then gave a time bank a kiss for good luck as he passed it to the dealer, and peeled his second card, before immediately putting in calling chips.

Serkan Kuru: AJ

Tomovic was dominated, and there was no escape on the A62JQ runout, Kuru turning two pair to leave Tomovic dead.

Kabrhel Talks Alt into Call

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel has been making hay as the bubble approaches, in almost every hand at his table. Here, he opened to 25,000 and Dinesh Alt defended the big blind.

"Worst call in poker history, good luck bubble boy" said Kabrhel as the KJ10 flop was dealt.

"I think you've lost, can you just muck your hand", asked Kabrhel, as Alt check-called a bet of 12,000 from the Czech.

The 8 turn was checked through, and as the dealer prepared to put out the river, Kabrhel shouted "Quuueeeenn".

As if by command, the Q hit on the river, leading to Kabrhel screeching in delight and high-fiving the dealer.

Alt checked, and Kabrhel fired out a bet of 56,000. Alt reluctantly called, and saw the bad news when Kabrhel tabled A6 for the rivered one-card straight.

Zoltan Szarka

Just before their table broke, Zoltan Szarka pushed with a shorter stack and was called by Bartlomiej Muzacz in the next seat.

Zoltan Szarka: 87 All in
Bartlomiej Muzacz: AJ

Muzacz was already ahead and called for the jack of spades after the KQ4 flop. The Q turn was a blank and the same applied for the 3 on the river to knock out Szarka before the money. On the way out, he was joined by Alexander Dovzhenko to bring the field one step closer to the bubble.
