Dominik Koenig had his stack of around 800,000 in from the button and was put at risk by Javier Francort from the big blind.
Dominik Koenig: J♣10♦
Javier Francort: A♦8♣
Francort pulled further into the lead on the A♣5♦6♠ flop, but Koenig picked up a few outs on the J♦ turn. Only a jack or ten would do for Koenig, but the 5♣ river wasn't it, which left him on the sidelines.
Milorad Stojisavljevic pushed all-in for the last 240,000 and was called by Amiel Gamliel in the next seat, all other players folded.
Milorad Stojisavljevic: A♥8♦
Amiel Gamliel: A♦9♦
A split pot was likely preflop and after the K♥K♠4♦ flop, but the 9♣ turn left Stojisavljevic drawing dead prior to the 10♠ on the river to end his run on the final five tables.
Andrei Spataru shoved from under the gun for around 400,000 and Martin Vittek made the call from the small blind.
Andrei Spataru: K♣5♣
Martin Vittek: A♠A♣
Spataru had run into it, but could see an escape path as the 6♦3♦7♣ flop gave him a gutshot. That came in on the 4♥ turn, which left Vittek drawing to a chop. No sharing was going to happen on Spataru's watch, though, as the 10♠ river meant he doubled up.
Cheng Zhao opened the hijack to 125,000 and was met with a three-bet by Michal Szczeblewski to 255,000. That wasn't enough for Zhao, as when it got back to him, he four-bet to 625,000. Szczeblewski called.
On the 3♠3♣2♦ flop, Zhao continued with a bet of 400,000, which Szczeblewski called to see the 7♦ turn. After some time, Zhao checked, then Szczeblewski moved all in. Zhao had around 1,400,000 behind, but didn't want to invest another chip as he quickly folded.
Robin Meyer bet 250,000 from the big blind on a flop of 10♦6♥2♥ before Ignazio De Rosa moved all in for 800,000 in middle position. Vagke Sagkinian then reshoved for 1,300,000 in the hijack, and Meyer called to put both players at risk.
Ignazio De Rosa: Q♣Q♥
Vagke Sagkinian: A♣A♦
Robin Meyer: A♥9♥
Sagkinian was ahead with his aces, but he needed to dodge Meyer's nut flush draw as they both took out their phones to capture the action. The turn was the 3♦, while the 5♠ river was safe for Sagkinian to scoop the entire pot. He doubled up off Meyer, while De Rosa was sent to the rail.
Two hands in quick succession just ended the run of Daniel Skipper.
First, Vladimir Martynov shoved the hijack for 535,000 and Skipper put in the call from the big blind.
Vladimir Martynov: 6♠6♥
Daniel Skipper: K♣J♣
The flop of 2♠4♣3♣ triggered Skipper to let out an early celebration as he clenched his fist in delight, only to realize that he hadn't flopped a flush. He did still have plenty of outs, but the early claim of the pot angered the poker gods as the runout of 10♥7♠ meant Martynov doubled up.
In the very next hand, Skipper got to the turn from the small blind on a board of 9♦8♥3♥A♣ and bet 130,000, only for Sarah Link to raise to 300,000 from the big blind. Skipper three-bet to 600,000, Link shoved, and Skipper called off the 500,000 he had behind.
Daniel Skipper: A♠3♠
Sarah Link: A♦8♣
Both players had turned two pair, but it was Skipper that needed help as he was way behind. A 10♣ on the river sealed his fate, as Link's stack rocketed up to around 4,000,000.
