River Ace Not Enough For Busch as Karakitukov Shows the Goods

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Ricardo Busch three-bet to 50,000 on the button and was called by Anh Do in the big blind and Veselin Karakitukov in the cutoff.

The flop came 994 and Busch bet 25,000. Only Karakitukov called to see the 8 turn, where Busch moved all in. Karakitukov snap-called for 131,000, and Busch flung his arms in the air in frustration as he already suspected what was coming.

He showed AAKJ, but his suspicions proved correct as Karakitukov turned over QJ99 for quads. The A river was a cruel tease for Busch as he handed over all but one chip.

"Thank you for the ace," he joked with the dealer.

Ying showed KK42, but Scarano had turned a straight with A1082. The river was the Q and Ying was eliminated.

The field is already down to 50 players in a hurry and among those to depart were Zdenek Zizka, Michael Magalashvili and Ryan Kett. Nicolas Decru lost his stack to Volodymyr Kokoulin who rivered a set of aces with the AAJ6 on a board of 732KA.

"What did he have? You raised preflop?" Alkiviadis Stamatis asked and Kokoulin replied "I don't remember" with a big smirk on his face.

Triple Knockout Vaults Schamaun Up the Leaderboard

Martin Schamaun
Martin Schamaun

Over on table four, a preflop raising war broke out in which three players were all-in and at risk against Martin Schamaun. Simeon Tsonev was the last one to call all-in when Schamaun had repotted already and the cards were then flipped over, as the excitement grew on the table.

Marek Pigula: QQ55 All in
Simeon Tsonev: 7654 All in
Tomasz Kozub: AKQ8 All in
Martin Schamaun: AAJ10

Tsonev asked for low cards and was happy to see the 4 in the window, but it was followed by the A9 to give Schamaun the top set. On the J turn, Kozub picked up three outs for a broadway straight while Pigula and Tsonev were already drawing dead. The 4 river paired the board to send three players to the payout desk.
