Michael Leah kicked things off from under the gun with a raise to 8,000. Action folded to Eugene Katchalov on the button, who three-bet to 27,000. Leah then moved all in, and Katchalov snap-called.
Eugene Katchalov: K♦K♥
Michael Leah: J♥J♣
The board ran out 9♠J♦2♥A♣3♦, giving Leah a set and sending Katchalov to the rail.
Neville Costa opened from under the gun, and Juho Suutari three-bet from the button. Costa then moved all in, and Suutari made the call.
Neville Costa: Q♦Q♥
Juho Suutari: A♣A♥
The flop came 4♥A♦3♠, giving Suutari a set, and Costa was already out of his chair, ready to go. But the 5♥ turn brought straight outs for a split pot, and Costa stopped in his tracks. The 2♦ river completed the wheel, giving Costa a miracle split pot to stay alive.

Day 1 Action
Day 1 featured plenty of movement across the field, with several known names building stacks and others falling along the way. Viktor Blom was involved in multiple pots and added chips throughout the day, while Boris Kolev also chipped up in a few spots. Hugo Machado stood out with one of the biggest hands of the day after flopping quads in a multiway pot.
Jovan Kenjic
There were also some key all-in situations, including Quan Zhou finding a flush on the river to double, while Jovan Kenjic stayed alive thanks to a late river card. On the other side, players like Eugene Katchalov and Anthony Zinno saw their runs come to an end before the close of play.
One of the more entertaining moments came when Shaun Deeb called off with a flush and straight draw against Andy Tsai, only to miss the river and see Tsai double up, leading to some light table banter.

Play will resume tomorrow at 1 p.m. with blinds at 2,500/5,000 and a 5,000 big blind ante. With late registration still open, Day 2 promises more action as the field continues to take shape.
