Gary Herstein Doesn't Pair the Board

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

We missed the elimination of Chicago's Gary Herstein but learned some details after the fact.

Herstein four-bet jammed roughly 45,000 with pocket jacks and was called by a player holding {k-}{q-}.

The flop came down {10-}{j-}{a-} to give Herstein a set, but his opponent flopped Broadway. Neither the turn nor river paired the board and just like that Herstein was out.

Min Gets Flush Value

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action was on the river as the board read {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Jason Min made an around pot size bet of 28,000.

Cherish Andrews had the decision on her as the bet was for a large amount of her remaining stack. After a few moments she called.

Min turned over the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the flush which Andrews could not beat as she mucked and counted her small remaining stack.

Usude Runs His Pocket Jacks Into Aces

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Christopher Usude was all in for his remaining stack holding {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} against his opponent's {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}.

The {3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop left Usude drawing to running jacks but the {3-Spades} river brought chop outs. Unfortunately for Usude, the {7-Clubs} completed the board on the river and ended his tournament.

Cimbolas Sends Schumacher Into the Tank

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action was picked up as a huge pot was brewing with at least 125,000 in the middle with two of the bigger stacks competing for it.

The board was completed, showing the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Johann Schumacher was in middle position and checked it over to Matas Cimbolas from the hijack who bet 55,000.

Schumacher considered the less than half pot size pot bet for quite a while. Finally after about 2 minutes he folded to send a large pot to Cimbolas and make him one of the larger stacks in the room.

Kicker Plays for Schaffer

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded around to Zhen Cai who raised to 4,500 from the cutoff and then called the 15,500 three-bet jam Brian Schaffer made from the small blind.

Zhen Cai: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Brian Schaffer: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Schaffer had Cai dominated but had a sweat after the {2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Spades} flop gave Cai the wheel draw. Luckily for Schaffer, his sweat dried after the {7-Hearts} and {k-Spades} completed the board.

O'Hara Doesn't Believe Engel and Pays the Price

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Chris O'Hara raised to 4,500 from middle position only to call Ari Engel's 13,000 three-bet from the button.

The {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop saw O'Hara check-call Engel's 14,000 continuation bet and then check-jam after Engel fired out 38,000 on the {j-Clubs} turn.

Engel counted out his chips, shrugged his shoulders and called off his 129,000 stack.

Ari Engel: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Chris O'Hara: {q-Spades}{8-Spades}

O'Hara didn't believe Engel had a hand and the {7-Clubs} river costed him majority of his stack.

Hastings Forces Out Ho

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a blind on blind battle, Maria Ho and Brian Hastings were viewing a flop that read {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Hastings made a bet that was called by Ho.

The turn was the {j-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The river came the {7-Hearts}. Ho checked from the small blind and Hastings waited a moment before betting 10,000 into a pot of about 31,000. Ho thought for about 15 seconds before folding her hand and ceding the pot over to her left.

Chan Hits the Road

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Johnny Chan (on Day 1)
Johnny Chan (on Day 1)

Chris O'Hara moved all in preflop from under the gun for about 38,000, claiming he was doing so blind.

It folded to Johnny Chan in middle position who moved all in himself for slightly less than O'Hara's amount. Everyone else folded.

O'Hara revealed the {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} while Chan had the {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Chan was elimianted.

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel raised all in for 13,000 from the hijack and Ting Yi Tsai isolated from the cutoff.

Erik Seidel: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Ting Yi Tsai: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Seidel woke up with an inferior pocket pair and couldn't find a set on the {2-Spades}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} runout, ending his tournament.

Park Takes Out Paolucci

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ron Paolucci shoved about 42,000 after the flop came {2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Andy Park mulled it over for a while before calling and turned over the {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} which was ahead of the {k-}{j-} of Paolucci.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and the river came the {a-Spades} to give the pot to Park and eliminate Paolucci.
