Greenblatt Puts Lew To The Test

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

In a five-way pot with just over 6,000 in the middle on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}, all five players checked their options to the {j-Clubs} turn. The big blind and under-the-gun player checked to Alex Greenblatt in middle position who bet out 5,000 and only Robbi Jade Lew called on the button.

The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Greenblatt sized to 10,500. Lew went in the tank, but after close to 30 seconds, let her hand go and the pot was sent to Greenblatt.

Ashdown Takes a Chunk from Failla

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Hye Park raised it up from under the gun and picked up four callers along the way. In a five-way pot, the flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Park continued with a bet of 1,500. Harrison Ashdown called on the button and Will Failla came alone from the small blind.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and it checked to Ashdown who threw in a bet of 6,000. Failla still called and Park stepped aside. The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Failla checked again. Ashdown sized up a bet of 18,000 and Failla went into the tank for a couple of minutes before making the call. Ashdown turned over {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a seven-high straight and Failla mucked his cards.

Hover Covers The Board

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Belgica Dardon opened to 1,000 from early position and it folded to Robert Hover in the hijack who made the call. The button also called, as well as Alex Foxen in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and action checked through to the {10-Hearts} turn. Dardon led for 2,000 and only Hover made the call. On the {6-Hearts} river Dardon checked to Hover who tossed out a bet of 7,500. Dardon snap-called and the hands were tabled.

Hover rolled over {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for the rivered flush and Dardon flashed {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a straight as she tossed them into the muck.

Champlin Flips Lin to the Rail

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

After a raise to 1,000 in the hijack, Spencer Champlin three-bet to 3,200 on the button. Ren Lin four-bet to 8,000 from the big blind which got the original raiser to fold. Champlin responded with a five-bet shove and Lin quickly called off his stack of around 30,000 chips.

Ren Lin: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Spencer Champlin: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Champlin maintained the lead with his pair of tens. The {7-Hearts} on the turn and the {3-Spades} river were no help to Lin who exited the tournament for a fifth time over the first two days.

Becker Finds Miracle River To Stay Alive

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The action was picked up in a pot of just over 12,000 on a board showing {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Jeremy Becker moved all in from middle position for 12,300 and David Mcgowan took some time before making the call with a slightly bigger stack.

Jeremy Becker: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}
David Mcgowan: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Mcgowan made the correct call and was in the lead but would need to fade the outs for Becker on the river, and when the {10-Diamonds} hit it was the rivered pair for Becker to score the full double up and leave Mcgowan short.

Lichtenberger Puts De Almeida in the Freezer

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Andrew Lichtenberger raised to 1,000 in early position and was called by Jared Kingery in the hijack and Pierre De Almeida in the big blind. The flop came {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} and the action checked through to the {6-Clubs} on the turn and the {8-Clubs} on the river.

De Almeida led out with a large bet of 7,000 on the river and Lichtenberger ripped all in for 29,200. Kingery quickly folded but De Almeida wasted no time in calling. Lichtenberger turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for the best full house while De Almeida rivered a smaller full house with {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

The action was picked up in a pot of close to 15,000 on a flop showing {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Vincent Wong bet 12,000 from early position and the cutoff made the call.

The {7-Clubs} hit the turn and Wong moved all in for 10,200. The cutoff went in the tank, but after close to a minute, made the fold.

"I could not beat a full house," said the cutoff as Wong collected his chips.
