2025 Wynn Summer Classic
The 23 May was Day 3 of the 2025 Wynn Summer Classic and saw another winner crowned and two more flights of the $600 buy-in $500,000 GTD event.
With the final two starting flights getting underway later today (Day 1E - 12 p.m. & Day 1F (Turbo) - 6 p.m.), anyone not guaranteed a seat in Day 2 will be looking to lock one up.
Stern Gallops to Victory in $1,100 HORSE
It's the first mixed game event on the Wynn Summer Classic schedule, and it's been won by Zachary Stern who defeated Michael Sopko heads-up.
Stern takes home $19,060 for his victory over an 82-player field, with Sopko having to settle for just $2 less after an apparent heads-up deal.
Start-of-day chip leader David "Bakes" Baker would have to settle for fifth-place, while former bracelet winner Scott Abrams exited in sixth.

Hani Awad Leads $1,100 TORSE
A total of 86 players entered the $1,100 TORSE event, generating a prize pool of $82,990. At the end of Day 1, just 15 players remain and they are lead by Hani Awad. The bracelet winner, whose WSOP victory came in the $2,500 Mixed Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better event in 2016 finished with 559,000 chips.
He's clear of David Tarbet (308,000) who is the only other player above 300,000 in chips. David "Bakes" Baker is also through to another mixed game Day 2, and sits 13th in chips.
The tournament plays down to a winner today, with play resuming at 11 a.m.

Bin Weng the Player to Catch in Event #1
After two more starting flights, there have been a total of 804 entries in the $500,000 GTD $600 buy-in event, with Bin Weng the new leader in the clubhouse.
He became the first player to bag over 1,000,000 chips, and is the current leader over the 100 survivors through to Day 2.
Other notables who've already booked their spots in Day 2 include Darryll Fish (443,000), Jeremy Becker (355,000), Frank Stepuchin (187,000), Ryan Tosoc (165,000) and Victoria Livschitz (138,000).

The final day of the TORSE will see another Wynn Summer Classic champion crowned, with another mixed game event — the Limit 2-7 Triple Draw — also kicking off at the same time. That tournament sees late registration open until 4:30 p.m., so expect some of those eliminated from the TORSE to jump across.
Meanwhile, the multiflight No-Limit Hold'em event has two more flights — the last two — with a regular flight at 12 p.m. and a turbo flight later today at 6 p.m.

After the first day of of the 2025 Wynn Summer Classic saw two events begin and end. Day 2 was a day of just fresh starts. The festival crowned no new winners, but it did get three Day 1 flights underway for two separate events.

David Baker Leads $1,100 H.O.R.S.E
First up, the two-day $1,100 H.O.R.S.E. event saw the field play down to 17 survivors.
These players were culled from a field of 82 entries, which set the prize pool at $79,130.
From this field, David "Bakes" Baker emerged as the Day 1 chip leader, topping the rankings with 339,000 in chips. Baker is just a few spots ahead of Scott Abrams who follows him closely in second place with 327,000 in chips.
Play resumes at 11:00 a.m. today and will play down to a winner.
Two Flights In On $600 NLH Event
The $500,000 guaranteed $600 No Limit Hold'em event ran two Day 1 flights yesterday.
The first flight, Day 1A, ran with 30-minute blind levels to start, changing to 40-minute levels deeper in. This flight kicked off at 12:00 p.m.
The second flight was the Day 1B (Turbo) flight, which started with 20-minute blinds. This flight began at 6:00 p.m.
The two flights attracted 320 players, making for a prize pool of $163,200 and counting. Forty of these players found a Day 2 bag.
The chipleader of this combined field is Michael Arellano with 825,000 in chips. He will be the man to beat during today's Day 1C and Day 1D (Turbo) flights. However, with four more Day 1 flights to go, Arellano won't be sitting to comfortably in the top spot.
What's Coming Up Next?
Today's schedule begins with the end of yesterday's $1,100 H.O.R.S.E. event. Day 2 of this event starts at 11:00 a.m. and will play down to a winner.
As the remaining mixed game players in the H.O.R.S.E. event are eliminated one by one, expectations are that many of them will head over to the $1,100 T.O.R.S.E. event. This event starts at 12:00 p.m., with late registration open until 7:30 p.m.
The T.O.R.S.E. event mixes rounds of 2-7 triple draw (replacing limit hold'em in the more common H.O.R.S.E. setup), Omaha eight-or-better, razz, seven-card stud, and seven-card stud eight-or-better.
At the same time (12:00 p.m.), Day 1C of the $500,000 guaranteed $600 No Limit Hold'em event will kick off.
Six hours later at 6:00 p.m., players will shuffle up and deal in Day 1D (Turbo) of the same.
Both flights have late registration for 8 levels. However, these levels are 30 minutes each in the first flight and 20 minutes each in the turbo flight.

Day 1 of the 2025 Wynn Summer Classic saw two events complete the journey from shuffle up to wind down, crowning a pair of champions in the process.
Daniel Yu took down the first tournament on the schedule, the $600 Seniors No Limit Hold'em event.
This event more than doubled its $50,000 guarantee with a prize pool of $109,180 and 212 entries.
The high turnout for this event put $20,688 in Yu's pocket at the end of the night.
To get there, Yu had to beat husband-and-wife Barry and Allyn Shulman (8th and 9th place, respectively) at the final table as well as Mitchell Garshofsky heads up.
But get there he did, earning Yu the first-place check and rounding off Day 1 of the 2025 Wynn Summer Classic in the process.

Pisarenko Wins The Mixed Triple Draw Event
The second event on the schedule (though the first to wrap up) was the $600 Mix Triple Draw.
This event cycled through rounds of 2-7 triple draw, A-5 triple draw, and badugi until Maksim Pisarenko beat Michael Wolff heads up to take home the $14,190 first-place prize.
Wolff earned $8,946 for second place.

The two-day $1,100 H.O.R.S.E. event starts at 12 p.m. with late registration running until 7:30 p.m. This mixed-game event has a $50,000 guarantee and 40-minute blind levels.
Starting at the same time is Day 1A of the $600 No Limit Hold'em event with its $500,000 guarantee. Late registration ends at 4:40 p.m.
Then at 6:00 p.m., a turbo Day 1B flight for the same event kicks off with shorter 20-minute blind levels to start with. Late registration ends for this flight at 9:00 p.m.

This year's festival runs from May 21 through July 14, with over $40 million in guarantees. There's plenty of poker in store before we get round to the $10,400 Summer Championship which comes with $10 million GTD. The first of four starting flights for that event gets underway on June 26.
Today sees the first two events get underway:
- $600 Seniors NLH 50+ (11 a.m.)
- $600 Mix Triple Draw (12 p.m.)
Late registration in these events is open until 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively, and we'll be bringing you all the results as soon as we get them.
