The remaining seven players are going on their first 15-minute break of the day.
The action was relayed to PokerNews as Gregory Rankich was seen exiting the tournament area just moments after pulling in a sizeable pot. Ernest Bush raised it up in early position and Rankich called from the small blind. The flop came Ax10x8x and the two players quickly got all of their chips in the middle with Rankich at risk for around 1,500,000.
Gregory Rankich: J♦9♦
Ernest Bush: AxKx
Bush flopped top pair but Rankich had an open-ended straight draw. He also picked up a flush draw on the turn but the river bricked out, sending Rankich home in eighth place.
Joseph Spanne raised to 200,000 from under the gun and was called by Jeff Madsen on the button and Gregory Rankich in the big blind. The flop came 10♠7♣3♦ and the action checked to Madsen who bet 165,000. Rankich and Spanne both called to see the 7♦ on the turn.
The action checked around this time and the 9♦ completed the board. Rankich quickly shoved all in for 615,000 and got both Spanne and Madsen to fold. Rankich did the honors by showing his 7♠ as he raked in the pot.
Chahn Jung opened to 250,000 in the hijack and was called by Quang Vu in the cutoff and Jeff Madsen on the button. They went three ways to a flop of 9♦7♥3♠ and it checked to Madsen who bet 365,000. Jung got out of the way but Vu stuck around to see the 4♣ on the turn.
Both players checked this time and the 10♥ completed the board. Two more checks and Vu took his 8♥8♦ to showdown for the best hand to win the pot.
Alexander Farahi opened to 225,000 in middle position and Ernest Bush reraised to 550,000 on his left. The action folded back to Farahi who called to see a flop of 6♠3♦2♣.
Farahi checked and Bush continued with a bet of 450,000. Farahi still called and the J♠ landed on the turn. Farahi checked again and Bush announced a bet of 1,500,000. Farahi thought for an entire 30 seconds and then released his cards to the muck.
Level: 27
Blinds: 50,000/100,000
Ante: 100,000
The action folded around to Quang Vu in the small blind who eyed up the short stack in the big blind before announcing all in. Ryan Tosoc was that short stack and quickly called off his last 600,000 chips after peeking at his cards.
Ryan Tosoc: A♣7♥
Quang Vu: 10♠2♠
The flop came K♥8♣2♥ and Vu paired his measly deuce to take the lead. The 3♣ on the turn and the J♦ on the river were no help to Tosoc who became the first casualty of the day.
Quang Vu opened to 180,000 in middle position and Joseph Spanne defended from the big blind. The flop fell 9♦8♠5♥ and Spanne check-called a bet of 120,000 from Vu.
The 5♦ paired the board on the turn and Spanne led out with a bet of 260,000. Vu called and the 2♥ rolled off on the river. Spanne checked this time and Vu splashed in a bet of 600,000. Spanne instantly flicked in a single chip and Vu tabled K♦Q♦ for a missed flush draw. Spanne held K♠9♠ for two pair and collected the pot.
It's been a cautious start to the final table by all of the players but the chip leader Chahn Jung made his first move picking on one of the shorter stacks. Gregory Rankich opened to 200,000 in early position and Jung three-bet to 500,000 in the cutoff. The action was back on Rankich who quickly flicked in a call.
The flop fell A♦9♣5♣ and Rankich checked to Jung who counted out a bet of 400,000. Rankich dumped his cards into the muck and Jung was awarded the pot.
