Brown Fails to Spin It All the Way Back

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

After being on the wrong side of an earlier coin flip, Gregory Brown was down to just a few big blinds. He managed to double up at least once and then found himself all in again versus Joao Simao.

Gregory Brown: AxKxAll in
Joao Simao: QQ

"King!" Brown cheered, but the flop of 965 stayed low for Simao. The turn and river also bricked out and Brown was eliminated.

Big Pots Near the Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Cole Ferraro
Cole Ferraro

As the field is dwindling down close to the money bubble, that hasn't stopped some of the bigger stacks from being eliminated recently. At one table, Cole Ferraro and Jesse Lonis got all of their chips in the middle preflop with Ryan Ross being forced out in the middle.

Lonis flipped over pocket sixes and found himself in a coin flip against the ace-king of Ferraro. A clean board for Lonis sent Ferraro to the rail and Ross mentioned after the hand that he also had ace-king but avoided any confrontation.

Next door, Chino Rheem was also eliminated just short of the money at the hands of Gregory Rankich who is the chip leader. Rankich added to his stack and is now sitting with over 1,700,000 chips.

Paskevicius Goes for Thin Value

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Nerijus Paskevicius and Matthew McEwan were heads-up in a three-bet pot with just shy of 100,000 in the middle. The flop came J73 and Paskevicius checked to McEwan who continued with a bet of 50,000. Paskevicius called and the 10 landed on the turn.

Both players checked this time and the 10 paired the board on the river. Paskevicius counted out a small bet of 30,000 and McEwan looked him up. Paskevicius turned over 88 which proved to be the best hand.

Jensen Takes a Flip

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Gregory Brown opened to 12,000 from under the gun and picked up two callers. Rex Jensen was in the big blind and pushed all in for 170,000. Brown reshoved all in for 196,000, forcing out his other opponents.

Rex Jensen: 1010All in
Gregory Brown: AK

The flop of A102 got a fist pump from Jensen after seeing the ten in the window. However, the A on the turn made things interesting as Brown picked up some outs. The 5 completed the board and Jensen survived with a full house to double up.

Feingold Keeps Fighting

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Howard Feingold opened to 15,000 on the button and Peter Cross three-bet to 45,000 out of the small blind. Feingold jammed all in for 99,000 and Cross quickly called.

Howard Feingold: JJAll in
Peter Cross: 77

The flop came 983 which scared Feingold for a moment. The 3 and Q runout was safe for Feingold who doubled up through Cross.

"We're still fighting," Feingold said. "The kid is fighting back against these tough kids."

Rankich Soars to Seven Figures in Massive Cooler

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Gregory Rankich
Gregory Rankich

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading 332A, Gregory Rankich and Nick Pupillo were heads-up with around 90,000 chips in the middle. Rankich checked and Pupillo fired out a bet of 65,000. Rankich countered with a check-raise to 300,000. Pupillo announced all in for 530,000 and Rankich instantly called.

Nick Pupillo: 54All in
Gregory Rankich: A3

Pupillo turned a straight but it was no match for the full house of Rankich. Pupillo still had a couple of outs to a straight flush but the J on the river was no help. Rankich had the bigger of the two stacks to start the hand and now has the largest stack in the room as the first player to reach seven figures.
