PokerNews continues its mission of covering more US-based events by announcing live updates from both the Southern Poker Open at Horseshoe Bossier City (August 8-11) and the Oklahoma State Poker Championship at Hard Rock Tulsa (August 16-18).

Southern Poker Open Goes Land-Based

From August 8-11, Horseshoe Bossier City is partnering with Run Good Events to host the inaugural $420 buy-in, $200,000 GTD Southern Poker Open. The four-day series will offer a $100 Mega and several Turbo satellites in order to qualify players for one of five Main Event flights. In addition, there will be a $160 Tag Team tournament.

The 2019 Southern Poker Open will mark the first time a major poker event will be held on the Horseshoe Bossier City’s new landside of the property as it will play out inside the Riverdome.

“We’re ecstatic to see Horseshoe Bossier City take giant steps forward in growing the game of poker,” said RunGood President Tana Karn. “The move into the Riverdome marks a huge milestone for Louisiana poker. The move will benefit players in various ways that include more room, less wait times to play, and bigger events.”

Heading to Oklahoma

2019 Oklahoma State Poker Championship

After wrapping up in Louisiana, the team will head to Hard Rock Tulsa for the 2019 Oklahoma State Poker Championship, a $675 buy-in event. The tournament will run from August 16-18 and feature two starting flights. The first will be at Noon local time on Friday, August 16 while the 1b flight will take place at the same time on Saturday, August 17. The surviving players from both flights will combine on Sunday, August 18 at Noon to play down to a winner.

In addition, there will be several side events starting on Thursday, August 8 and more than $200K in guarantees will be up for grabs.
