The World Series of Poker (WSOP) may be over for another year, but the next massive live poker series is just around the corner. The 2025 edition of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona kicks off on August 18, runs through until August 31, and sees an incredible array of tournaments between those dates.
Of course, the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event is the tournament everyone wants to win, but there's much more to the schedule than that.
The 2025 PokerStars EPT Barcelona bursts into life at noon on August 18, with players eager to see how well-received the PokerStars Open Barcelona event is. Since its creation, the PokerStars Open has attracted massive crowds. Barcelona is a poker hotbed, so expect this €1,650 buy-in affair to have an eye-popping attendance.
At the recent PokerStars Open Malaga, a field of 1,696 created a €1,575,560 prize pool. Italy's Manuel Ferrari raced off with a €206,300 top prize. If similar payouts happen in Barcelona, the PokerStars Open champion will kick off the festival in some style.
The Barcelona field could be even bigger thanks to PokerStars' online players' ability to exchange a Power Path Silver Pass for a seat in the event, plus expenses.
All your favorite EPT tournaments are present and correct at the Casino Barcelona. They include affordable satellites for the bigger buy-in events, a $1,100 Seniors, $550 Women's, a €3,250 Seniors High Roller, several Pot-Limit Omaha, an eight-game and nine-game tournament, a sprinkling of High Rollers and Super High Rollers, and the EPT Barcelona Main Event. Massive Turnout Expected for the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event
Since 2018, the EPT Barcelona Main Event has attracted more than 1,900 entrants each year, including an incredible 2,294 in 2022. Last year, Stephen Song marched onto victory after bulldozing his way through a 1,975-strong field. Song struck a deal with British star Andrew Hulme before also sending him to the rail. Song walked away with the famous EPT trophy plus €1,290,386.
This year's EPT Barcelona Main Event features a pair of opening flights at noon on August 24 and August 25. The field will gradually whittle down until a worthy champion is crowned on August 31, an entire week later. Whoever that champion is, they will likely take home a seven-figure score and join the superstars who have emerged victoriously from their respective Barcelona battles. Expand the table below to see those former champs.
