Poker players Liv Boeree and Igor Kurganov have married. The long-time couple shared the news on Monday, announcing that the ceremony took place at Burning Man.

Boeree posted photos from the desert festival along with the message, “We finally did it!!!” and confirmed the pair had tied the knot at what she described as their “favourite place on earth.” The news was met with congratulations from across the poker community.

Boeree and Kurganov spent years together as Team PokerStars pros and and won the 2017 WSOP $10,000 Tag Team Championship, collecting $273,964.

According to The Hendon Mob, the couple have $25,769,301 in combined live earnings. Boeree accounts for $6.7 million of that total, while Kurganov sits second on Russia’s all-time money list.

Although both play less frequently now, they still remain active. Boeree recorded her career-best score in December 2024 at WSOP Paradise, finishing fourth in the $25,000 Super Main Event for $2.8 million. The result was also the largest single cash ever recorded by a woman. Boeree was also at the 2025 WSOP, and cashed in the $10,000 Main Event for $27,500.

Work Beyond Poker

Boeree has increasingly shifted focus toward media and advocacy. She hosts the Win-Win podcast, which has featured guests including Molly Bloom, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Bill Perkins, and has become known for her work in science communication.

Following her WSOP Paradise run, she also donated $560,000 to fight factory farming. Kurganov also co-founded Raising for Effective Giving (REG), an organisation encouraging poker players to donate to high-impact charities.

The couple famously donated half of their 2017 WSOP Tag Team win to REG. Kurganov has also been linked with Elon Musk’s ventures in recent years, and told PokerNews in an interview how he nearly played the world's richest man and Phil Hellmuth in a poker game for one million DOGE coins.
