Charity Series of Poker (CSOP)

The Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) is ringing in the new year with a slate of charity poker tournaments in Las Vegas, giving poker players a chance to compete for a good cause.

That includes two CSOP events taking place this weekend, Event #91: Betting on Bright Futures on Jan. 23 and Event #92: The House That Cards Built the very next evening.

The upcoming charity events in the first quarter of 2026 will take the CSOP from The Stirling Club to Via Brasil Steakhouse and will benefit charities including Kickz For Kidz, Vegas Golden Chariots and Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas.

Two CSOP Events This Weekend

The first CSOP event of the new year will kick off on Jan. 23 with the "Betting on Bright Futures" event benefiting the Hospitality Charitable Foundation. The very next night will see "The House That Cards Built," an event at The Stirling Club benefitting Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas. The events have guaranteed prize pools of $5,000 cash and over $9,000 in donated prizes.

Those expected to attend the weekend's festivities include poker pro Jonathan Little, PokerNews Podcast co-host Ben Ludlow, actors Peter Mackenzie and Kane Hodder, and comedian Gabe Lopez.

“My passion and dedication to nonprofit work all began after seeing what an amazing job Habitat for Humanity was doing to help struggling families,” CSOP Founder Matt Stout said in a press release. “I volunteered at a site visit when I was 16 and became Vice President of my college’s chapter at 19, which is when I ran my first charity poker event: A $10 rebuy in a dormitory that raised a little over $1,000. 90 events and almost $8 million later, I couldn’t be more excited to finally work with my home city’s chapter of this wonderful organization.”

“We’re truly grateful for all community champions, linking arms with us to make our community a better place. You’re helping us change lives for the better, providing safe and affordable housing. We’re thankful for all event sponsors who've made this event possible," said Ashley Burney, a director at Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas.

About his work with the Hospitality Charitable Foundation, Stout said, “I’m excited to be supporting Hospitality Charitable Foundation for the second year in a row. I’ve seen firsthand how well HCF serves its mission. They not only provide scholarships, but have some powerful folks in the hospitality industry working side-by-side as they mentor the scholarship recipients.”

Other CSOP Events in 2026

The CSOP, founded and run by poker pro Matt Stout, has raised millions of dollars for various charities since its inception in 2014.

The charity events are known to attract poker legends like Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey and Mike Matusow, in addition to Vegas celebrities like adult actress Katie Morgan and, more recently, punk legend Mike "Fat Mike" Burkett of the band NOFX.

A few weeks later, on Feb. 7, will see "Hearts in the Crease," an event at Via Brasil Steakhouse to raise money for Vegas Golden Chariots, an all-abilities youth hockey organization. The event will feature three Margaritaville cruise packages and over $10,000 in donated prizes.

The next month, the CSOP will return to The Stirling Club with "Raise the Stakes for Rescue" on March 21, benefiting Hearts Alive Village and featuring a prize pool of $5,000 cash and $9,000 in donated prizes.
