Wynn Millions

After another thrilling week of winners at the Wynn Casino and Hotel during the Wynn Millions series, the action peaked at the $1,100 NLH $500,000 GTD event.

The top prize of $114,836 came with one of the rarest — and most brutal — coolers you’ll ever see, right at the final table.

With six players remaining, Taylor Black, then the short stack, shoved for roughly 2,500,000. The big blind, Norberto Lopez Rodriguez, quickly moved all-in for about 3,650,000, which the original raiser and table chip leader, Seth Jordan, snap-called.

Norberto Lopez Rodriguez: QQ
Seth Jordan: KK

The three best hands in poker collided, and players jumped out of their seat and couldn’t resist pulling out their phones to record the insanely rare cooler.

Black, who was in prime position to triple up, flopped top set but now had to sweat after the A104 flop gave Rodriguez a flush draw.

The Q on the turn only made things sweatier. It was bittersweet for Jordan, who picked up outs to scoop, but now trailed Rodriguez in the side pot, who had turned a set.

Black could finally breathe when the 7 completed the board, tripling up his stack, while Rodriguez scooped the smaller side pot—keeping both players alive in the tournament.

After the massive pot reshuffled the stacks, Rodriguez climbed to fourth place, taking home $46,587—nearly $20K more than he would have earned had he lost to Jordan’s kings.

Black, meanwhile, moved into the chip lead and navigated his way to heads-up play. Former chip leader Jordan also recovered from the cooler and bad beat on the same hand, making it to the final two just shy of Black in chips.

Before heads-up play began, the players agreed to an ICM chop, with Jordan receiving $93,675 and Black, the chip leader, taking $98,623 along with the Wynn trophy.
