Christopher Staats is an American poker player hailing from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, best known for winning the $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em event at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, his second WSOP bracelet.
Staats' first recorded live cash came in February 2009, with his first five-figure score weighing in at $13,957, his reward for a runner-up finish in a $400 buy-in tournament in Las Vegas. His first victory came in August 2014 in a $450 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em event, which earned him $24,500.
In January 2017, Staats won a $365 NLHE 6-Max event at the WSOP Circuit Choctaw for a new career-best $32,870. Staats blew that prize out of the water with a third-place finish in the 2018 WSOP Little One for One Drop, which came with $254,580.
In January 2020, Staats finished fifth in the $1,700 WSOPC Choctaw Main Event for $73,976. A cool $122,900 came Staats' way when he finished fourth in the $1,700 NLHE Prime Poker Open in Houston in November 2021.
Staats became a WSOP bracelet winner in 2022, taking down the $3,200 NLHE 6-Max High Roller for $111,609. He earned another $174,981 after finishing second in the $1,700 WSOPC Dallas Main Event in July 2023.
Five-figure prizes were common throughout 2024, including banking $40,000 for a deep run in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event.
Staats won his second bracelet at the 2025 WSOP, taking down the $1,500 NLHE 6-Max for $414,950.
