Patino Can't Be Raised Out

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

With around 8,000 in the pot on a board of 4367, Julian Patino bet 3,500 from the small blind and an opponent in middle position called.

Patino bet another 3,000 on the 7 river, but this time his opponent came back with a raise to 9,000. Patino snap-called.

His opponent showed 22, but Patino had JJ to win the pot.

Horn Implies a Set

Simon Horn raised to 700 under the gun and an opponent in the cutoff three-bet to 2,100. Horn called and the flop came 968.

The cutoff then continued for 1,600 and Horn came back with a raise to 4,500. His opponent quickly folded.

"Pick one," Horn said, and his opponent choose the 6. "I'm sure you can figure it out. You're a clever man. Wasn't the best call I've ever made preflop," Horn added.

Banda Makes a Big Hero Call to Double

There was nearly 20,000 in the pot as Fernando Banda and an opponent went to the turn on a board of 7665. Banda then bet 11,500 from under the gun and his opponent called in the small blind.

The river was the 9 and the small blind moved all in. Banda tanked for a few minutes before eventually calling for 31,000. His opponent showed A5 for two pair, but Banda had AA to win the pot and double up, leaving his opponent with just one 100 chip left.

Maranca Lays a Trap For McConachie

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Francisco Maranca limped in from the hijack before David McConachie raised to 1,100. Maranca called and the flop came A49.

Maranca then led out for 1,000 and McConachie called. Maranca bet another 2,000 on the K turn and McConachie again called.

The river was the 5 and Maranca slowed down and checked. McConachie then bet 7,000 and Maranca quickly called.

"Ace is good," McConachie said as he showed Q10. Maranca didn't just have one ace, he turned over AA for a set to win the pot.

Sokolovsky Gets Paid on the River

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

In a blind versus blind battle, Alexander Sokolovsky bet 3,000 on a board of 484A and the small blind called.

The river was the 9 and Sokolovsky bet another 15,000. His opponent tanked for several minutes until calling once again, then mucked when Sokolovsky turned over AK for two pair.

On the first hand of the day, a player in the hijack bet 700 on a flop of 48J and David Leon called in the big blind.

The turn was the 10 and the hijack bet another 2,000. Leon then raised to 10,000 and his opponent quickly called.

The 3 fell on the river and Leon bet 20,000. His opponent instantly tossed J10 into the muck and Leon showed him JJ as he took the pot.

Packed House Expected on Day 1c of the 888poker Live Barcelona Main Event

The Casino Barcelona will be full to the brim today when Day 1c of the 888poker Live Barcelona Main Event begins at 3 p.m. local time.

The third of four starting flights is expected to be the biggest one of them all. The first two opening days attracted a total of 161 entries, with 34 players already securing their spot on Day 2. The field should grow substantially over the course of the next two days as there is also a turbo Day 1d flight tomorrow at 11 a.m. and late registration remains open until the start of Day 2 at 5 p.m.

Chang Tan remains the man to catch as his massive stack of 574,000 that he amassed on the first day wasn’t seriously challenged yesterday. Dan Hoidahl (451,000), Tiago Luis (428,000), 888poker Live Bucharest champion Razvan Morar (396,500), and Eric Sucias (378,000) round out the top five stacks from the first two flights.
