Ledesma Puts His Stack to Work

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Manuel Ledesma
Manuel Ledesma

Manuel Ledesma raised to 4,500 under the gun and was called by Bryan Taylor in the hijack and Iason Filippidis in the cutoff. "FK" then moved all in for 30,000 and Ledesma shoved forward a tower of red 5,000 chips, enough to put his other two opponents all in. Taylor tanked for a minute before folding, while Filippidis quickly got out of the way.

"FK": 76 All in
Manuel Ledesma: AJ

Ledesma had to fade a straight draw going to the river as the board came QQ34, while the 9 fell on the river and Ledesma's ace-high stayed in the lead to earn last year's 888poker Live Madrid champion the knockout

Barnes Rockets Up the Leaderboard With Classic Cooler

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Around 30,000 was in the pot as Stephen Barnes and David Hudson went to the turn on a board of 2108J. Hudson then bet 25,000 from the big blind, Barnes moved all in for 101,000 in middle position, and Hudson snap-called.

Hudson turned over 22 for a flopped set, but Barnes showed him the bad news when he revealed JJ for a turned set. The river was the 4 and the 888poker Live Manchester champion raked in the massive double up, leaving Hudson with just one 100 chip behind.

McSherry Holds to Bust Aslam; McTaggart Doubles Off Bull

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Zahir Aslam raised to 5,500 in middle position and Paul McSherry moved all in from the button. The table folded back to Aslam who called for his last 20,000.

Zahir Aslam: 109 All in
Paul McSherry: A7

The flop came 523 to give Aslam additional outs with a flush draw, but he missed the K turn and A river as McSherry made top pair to send him to the rail.

At the same table, Dean Lyall has built his stack up to around 250,000 and in contention for the chip lead.

While this hand was taking place, Paul McTaggart had moved all in for 30,000 on another table and was up against Robbie Bull.

Paul McTaggart: AK All in
Robbie Bull: 109

McTaggart hit top pair on the K53 flop, while Bull picked up a straight draw on the J turn. The 4 river was safe for McTaggart and he earned the double up.

Vivian Saliba
Vivian Saliba

Stephen Barnes raised to 5,000 in early position and Robbie Bull moved all in for 22,000 in the cutoff. Vivian Saliba called on the button, while Barnes got out of the way.

Robbie Bull: AK All in
Vivian Saliba: JJ

Bull was racing for his tournament life but fell far behind on the J69 flop as Saliba spiked a set. The 6 turn left Bull drawing dead, while the 5 river was a mere formality as Bull was sent to the rail.

At another table, Daniel Gormley was recently eliminated when his A5 couldn't catch up against Joe Dixon's pocket sevens.

Saliba Gives Back a Big Chunk to Johnson

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

A few hands after busting Robbie Bull, Vivian Saliba raised to 5,500 in middle position and Daniel Johnson three-bet to 16,500 in the hijack. Saliba then moved all in and Johnson snap-called for 87,000.

Daniel Johnson: KK All in
Vivian Saliba: 1010

Johnson had woken up with kings and was a big favorite to double up as the 7A468 board provided no help to Saliba, forcing her to hand over the big pot.
