The 153 entries so far on Day 1d boosted the total field up to 286. Combined with the 18 players currently playing the turbo Day 1e flight and those already registered for tomorrow's Day 1f, the prize pool has officially surpassed the €250,000 guarantee.
Oliver Hutchins was down to just 4,000 when he moved all in from early position. Robbie Bull called on the button, but Maogen Fu then reraised to 15,000 in the small blind and Bull got out of the way.
Oliver Hutchins: A♥6♣
Maogen Fu: A♣Q♠
Both players hit a pair on the A♦10♦3♦ flop, but Fu remained in the lead with his queen-kicker. The rest of the board ran out 2♥Q♦ and Fu, who's already won the High Roller and Big Shot events this week, scored the knockout.
David Docherty moved all in for 15,500 from middle position and Mariusz Czech called in the big blind.
David Docherty: A♠Q♥
Mariusz Czech: K♥10♠
Docherty hit top pair on the A♣J♣5♥ flop and left Czech needing one of the last three queens in the deck to score the knockout. The 4♣ turn was safe for Docherty, but Czech spiked the Q♠ on the river.
Docherty could only laugh and shake his head before heading off to the exit.
Thomas Hall raised to 5,000 in the hijack and Marius Varanavicius moved all in for 45,000 in the small blind. Hall spent a few minutes agonizing over the decision but eventually put in the chips to call.
Marius Varanavicius: K♣K♠
Thomas Hall: 7♠7♦
Hall's suspicions proved correct as Varanavicius showed a pair of kings. The A♦10♦8♠5♥A♥ board was no help to Hall and he was forced to hand over the double up.
James Mcaulay raised to 5,500 under the gun and Chen Cheng called in the hijack. Viktor Katzenberger then three-bet to 18,000 on the button and both opponents called.
Katzenberger continued for 12,500 on the Q♦7♠4♣ flop and Mcaulay quickly folded. Cheng, though, put in a raise to 36,000 to send Katzenberger deep into the tank.
Katzenberger considered the decision for a few minutes until moving all in for 55,000. Cheng asked for a count and also tanked for a moment until eventually calling.
Viktor Katzenberger: K♥Q♠
Chen Cheng: J♥10♣
Katzenberger had gotten Cheng to call with just jack-high as he was a big favorite to double up. The rest of the board ran out 5♦6♠ and Cheng handed over the big pot.
William Henderson moved all in for 55,000 from the button as Matthew Davenport put him at risk in the big blind.
William Henderson: K♥Q♥
Matthew Davenport: A♦Q♦
Davenport had Henderson dominated and at risk as the flop came 6♣J♣5♦. The 5♠ turn was no help to Henderson, while the 4♥ river sealed his elimination.
Matthew Davenport has claimed another knockout victim as he continues his last-night surge up the leaderboard, and this time it was Steven Quinn.
Davenport had three-bet to 12,000 on the button and Quinn called in the hijack. The flop came Q♦6♦4♠ and Quinn moved all in for 15,000. Davenport snap-called.
Steven Quinn: K♦10♠
Matthew Davenport: A♠Q♠
Davenport was far ahead with top pair as the 10♣ turn gave Quinn additional outs with a pair, but he missed the J♦ river and Davenport scooped up another pot.
