A Wheel for Shkupi

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

There was a raise to 1,100 in the hijack and he was called by the button and Dritan Shkupi in the big blind. The flop came {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Shkupi checked to the hijack who continued for 1,900. The button folded and Shkupi called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Shkupi check-called another bet of 2,500 from his opponent. The {5-Spades} completed the board and both players tapped the felt quickly. Shkupi showed {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a straight and his opponent flashed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} before they hit the muck.

Chen Let's His Opponent Catch Up...But Not Too Much

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

After a couple of preflop raises, only two players were left in the hand, Jin Chen in the small blind and his opponent in the cutoff. The flop came {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and both players checked to the {k-Spades} on the turn.

Chen led out for 11,000 and his opponent quickly moved all in for around 20,000. Chen quickly called and it was a cooler scenario. The cutoff tabled {k-}{k-} for a set of kings but Chen held {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for a set of aces. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Chen scooped his opponent's chips.

Perfect Turn Card for Melms

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

After one limper, Donald Brown raised to 1,100 in middle position. There was a three-bet to 2,600 in the small blind and Bill Melms flat-called from the big blind. The rest of the table folded including Brown to leave Melms just the two blinds left in the hand.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Melms who bet 3,000. His opponent called and the {q-Spades} landed on the turn. The small blind check-called another bet of 6,500 from Melms and the {9-Hearts} completed the board.

The small blind checked for the third time and Melms threw enough chips in the middle to cover his opponent's stack of 12,600. His opponent splashed the rest of his chips in the pot and Melms tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for a straight. His opponent turned a set with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} but was forced to head to the registration desk.

Nguyen Climbs to a Whole Other Level

Level 2 : 100/200, 100 ante

On a flop of {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}, three players were still in the hand and the action checked to Phi Nguyen who bet 1,800 on the button. Anthony Dianaty check-raised to 5,000 from middle position and the cutoff folded. Nguyen called and the {j-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Dianaty shipped all in for 15,300 and Nguyen went into the tank for a couple of minutes. "Do you really think I'm bluffing?" Dianaty asked from across the table. Shortly after, Nguyen tossed in a chip to signify a call.

Dianaty turned over {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Nguyen called with {k-Spades}{8-Spades} and the best hand. The {5-Clubs} on the river changed nothing and Dianaty was sent to the registration desk again. "That's a whole other level right there," he said before getting up from his seat.

Dianaty First to the Rail

On a flop of {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Anthony Dianaty led out for 500 and Gary Bradshaw raised to 1,000 directly on his left. The action was back on Dianaty who made the call.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Dianaty check-called another bet of 1,600 from Bradshaw. The {8-Spades} paired the board on the river and both players quickly checked.

"You got lucky," Bradshaw said as he turned over {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a counterfeit two pair. Dianaty was still unable to beat it and sent his cards to the muck. Just a couple of moments later, Dianaty was seen leaving his seat as the first casualty of the night.
