Approximately 72 players have been sent on their first 10-minute break of Day 2.
We recently arrived to find Cole Swannack facing a raise on a ![]()
![]()
flop after he had led out for 9,200. Eric Chang was the player who raised and he had made it 20,000 to go. Anesone Bragouits was also involved in the pot and folded from the button. Back on Swannack and he tanked for quite some time before opting to let it go.
Despite winning this hand, Chang is still sitting behind a stack which is much smaller than the big stack he started the day with.

The ever-chatty Daniel Levy is no longer in his seat. In fact, Dean Blatt has now replaced Levy in that seat on Table 4. Considering Levy can’t be spotted, or more aptly, can’t be heard, anywhere in the room, it is safe to assume he has been one of the many casualties so far on Day 2 of the ANZPT Auckland Main Event.

Lukas Byrns didn’t have a good start to the day and it never really improved as he has now been eliminated at the hands of Xiao Jia.
We arrived at the action on the ![]()
![]()
flop, with well over 20,000 already in the middle and Byrns moving all in for 11,800. Jia had Byrns covered and made the call.
It was the ![]()
of Byrns against the ![]()
of Jia.
The turn was a
and the river a
, meaning Jia’s bigger over cards were good enough to win the pot and send Byrns to the rail.

One of the players on Table 6 just came over to tell us here at the media desk about a massive hand that just played out to see David Lim as the new chip leader in the room. Apparently Lim held ![]()
and flopped quads against a player who held ![]()
. The river was an
, but it’s presence only teased the player with the pocket rockets as Lim’s quads were good enough to see him skyrocket to approximately 175,000 in chips.

Franklin flipped over his ![]()

into the muck. Franklin is now one of the bigger stacks in the room while Ip has fallen below average.

Mike Stecker has taken a hit as Oliver Helm continues to blossom here on Day 2 of the ANZPT Auckland Main Event. We picked up a recent hand with Stecker leading out with a bet of 9,000 on the board of ![]()
![]()
![]()
. Helm made the call as the
river put three spades on board. That was enough to see both players check it down.
Helm didn’t wait to see Stecker’s cards as he confidently tabled ![]()
. That was good with Stecker mucking to drop to 23,000 with Helm now up to 100,000 after starting the day with just over 30,000.

More and more players continue to make their way to the rail on Day 2 of the ANZPT Auckland Main Event. The latest player to be eliminated was Jason McMahon. While he started the day with over 40,000 in chips, McMahon eventually found himself with just 5,200 and that’s what he jammed for from under the gun. Only Jeremy Ng in the small blind would make the call and the two players would turn their cards over.
It was McMahon’s ![]()

of Ng.
Unfortunately the board ran out ![]()
