Khouiss Beats Marsland

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

With the flop reading {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, Dale Marsland led out 30,500 and Sam Khouiss called. The turn produced the {3-Diamonds} and this time Marsland checked. Khouiss was quick to bet out 30,000 which Marland called instantly. The river fell the {Q-Clubs} and again Marsland checked. Khouiss moved all in putting the pressure right back on Marsland.

“Come on, I’ve been showing premiums all day,” tempted Khouiss.

Marsland made the call, only to muck his cards when Khouiss tabled his {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Marsland Rockets as Rubie Drops

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We caught the action with Brendon Rubie opening the pot to 10,000. Dale Marsland then re-raised to 21,500 and was met with a re-raise to 48,500 almost instantly. He made the call to see the flop come down {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Marsland checked as Rubie counted out a bet of 51,000 and slid it into the middle. Marsland thought for a moment before committing his 201,000 chip stack into the middle, and Rubie snap called.

Rubie: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Marsland: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

The turn and river fell {9-Spades} and {7-Diamonds} to see Marsland move up to 500,000 in chips as Rubie drops down to 30,000 in chips.

Joel Douaglin Eliminated in 45th Place

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Joel Douaglin can count himself very unlucky after being rivered for most of his chips. Rasmus Buer moved all in preflop and was called by Douaglin, who had him covered.

Douaglin: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Buer: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The players tabled their cards and watched as the board ran out {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to see running hearts give Buer the flush.

With that hand, Buer was able to double to 170,000 in chips, as Douaglin dropped down to 45,000 in chips.

A hand later, Douaglin moved all in on a {J-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} holding {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades} but ran into Ben Gilholme who held {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. The board ran out {4-Diamonds} and {10-Spades} to see his night end.

Play Resumes

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

After almost 20 minutes of stopped play, the issue has finally been resolved. Over on one of the tables, two players moved all in on a {4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop. One player showed his {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} resulting in the other throwing his cards into the muck. The board ran out {8-Diamonds} and {j-Diamonds} and that should’ve been that. Gary Benson, however, asked to see the mucked cards and the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.
Benson then argued that the player who mucked had colluded and that he should get a penalty. After some long deliberation, the hand was called dead because the player had mucked his cards, and the gentleman holding the pair of aces was deemed the winner.

The tournament clock has stopped for the time being as Tournament Directors are looking into an issue at one of the tables. We will bring you details shortly.

Ramin Mansour-Seperghan Eliminated in 50th Place

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We stumbled upon a table with Ramin Mansour-Seperghan moving all in and finding a call from Iori Yogo. The board read {J-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Yogo would need to catch an ace or running cards to win the end. The {A-Spades} fell on the turn to see him take the lead, and when the {4-Diamonds} dropped on the river, it was all over for Mansour-Seperghan.
