The Bubble has Burst

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The bubble has quickly burst here in the ANZPT Sydney Main Event. One minute the tournament clock was telling us there were 58 players left and the next minute it was announced to the players that they were in the money.

The unlucky player to find the rail in 55th place and with no money for their time was Sebastian Pagana. His final hand saw him with only enough for one ante (500), and luckily for him he woke up with {9-}{9-}. However when his opponent held {k-}{q-} and the board ran out with a {k-} on the flop, Pagana was heading home.

All the remaining players are now guaranteed some cash for their time!

Tran Beats Kelly

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We recently arrived at the table at the tail end of a massive hand between Trung Tran and Dan Kelly. By the time we were at the scene, there was a {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} board on the felt and well over 150,000 in the pot. The action was on Tran first and he moved all in for 117,500. Eventually flicked his cards away and Tran scooped up the massive pot to move towards 300,000 in chips.

Despite losing the above hand, Kelly is sitting very healthy with a 230,000-chip stack.

Divkovic Rivers Cohen

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A betting war just occurred between Hugh Cohen and [Removed:480]. After a five-bet shove, all the money was committed and the cards were tabled.

Cohen: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Divkovic: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} to see Divkovic river the straight to beat Cohen.

Carlton Leads

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Adam Carlton has one of the biggest chip stacks in the room after winning another hand. An opponent started the hand, by opening to 8,000 in chips. He found a caller in Sam Capra, Benjamin Benoit and Carlton. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and Benoit checked from the small blind. Carlton checked from the big blind as the original raiser threw in a continuation bet of 18,500. Capra folded, before Benoit made a quick call. Carlton also made the call as the three saw the {3-Clubs} drop on the turn. Benoit checked as Carlton counted out a bet of 39,000, and placed it in the middle. The original better folded, and after a few minutes, Benoit did too.

Carlton now sits on a stack totalling 530,000 in chips.

Rubie Rises

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The hand started with Brendon Rubie opening to 8,000 before facing a raise to 22,000 in chips. After thinking for a moment, he opted to re-raise to 39,000 which was called. Both players checked the {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop as the turn produced the {3-Clubs}. Rubie bet out 18,000 in chip and was called about a minute later. The {8-Hearts} on the river didn’t slow down Rubie as he led out for another 31,000 in chips. His opponent took almost two minutes, before making the call, only to fold his hand when Rubie tabled his {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Rubie is now sitting on a stack just over 300,000 in chips.
