Bryan Huang Surging

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang has made a late surge up the chip leader board.

The latest pot to go Huang's way began when he opened the button to 2,300. Sam Higgs was in the small blind and three-bet to 4,900. Huang made the call and the dealer flipped over a {4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop. HIggs led for 6,500 here and the action was Huang. After looking at Higgs stack size and taking a few moments to think, Huang raised it up to 14,700. Higgs then quickly moved all in for 35,000 total and Huang made the call.

Higgs: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Huang: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The {8-Spades} turn and the {j-Clubs} river didn't help Higgs and with that, he was sent home.

Huang, meanwhile, is now one of the chip leaders with around 135,000.

Higgs Building Stack

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Sam Higgs won an Aussie Millions gold ring earlier this year, but has yet to post a result in an ANZPT. He will be hoping that changes this weekend. Right now he sitting on around 35,000. Plenty of those chips came after a recent pot that he scooped on a {6-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} baord. We picked up the action on the flop, with Higgs checking, one opponent leading out for 2,500 and Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang folding. Higgs made the call. On the turn, Higgs led for 3,400 and his opponent called. Then, on the river, Higgs led for 10,400. This was more than half the player's stack

Rory Doubles Through Bec

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Rory Young was down to just 8,900 when the action folded to him on the button. Young moved all in here and Bec Catterwell put him at risk from the small blind. It was Young's {q-Spades}{9-Hearts} against Caterwell's {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Fortunately for Young, the board ran out {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Clubs}, with the river giving him what he needed.

Young is now back to around the starting stack, while Catterwell is nursing a very small stack.
