Priscilla, Queen of the Felt

The run of Priscilla Meirelles continues after she just sent two players to the rail.

"I normally don't call with this hand!" laughed Meirelles as she tabled {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} to be in front of her opponents who held {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} respectively.

"Keep it low!" Meirelles cried and the board co-operated when it arrived {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. She is now in great shape with about 35,000 chips.

Here Comes Sirens!

Van Marcus
Van Marcus
After slipping down a little since the dinner break, Australian Van "Sirens" Marcus has just turned things around holding pocket aces against an opponent's pocket jacks.

All the chips were in the middle preflop, with the board running out {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{K-Clubs} to send the pot to Marcus and eliminate his opponent.

Marcus is now up to around 28,000 chips.

Te Doubles through Roh

William Te Jr.
William Te Jr.
A massive pot was brewing between William Te Jr. and Chris Roh. Te check-called a bet of 4,200 from Roh on a flop of {2-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. When the turn came {10-Diamonds}, Te checked again. Roh, who had Te well covered, moved all in. Te called all in for less, a total of 16,150.

Roh: {5-Hearts} {6-Hearts}
Te: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}

Te asked for a black card, and got his wish when the river came {A-Spades}. As a result of that double-up, he has well more than 40,000 in chips.

Ladies Prominent

We still have seven ladies alive in today's field which makes up more than 10% of the remaining players. It's great to see such a high percentage of women doing well in this event.

Celina Lin has been very active lately moving all in over the top of two recent opening raises to move up over 20,000, while all players are chasing Tasha Ellis who is still out in front with 90,000 chips.

Tan Takes Out Another

Faced with an all-in bet from a very short-stacked player for a total of 3,325, Ivan Tan decided to make the call with {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}. He was in the lead against {10-Hearts} {5-Spades}

"Put some pictures on the board," Tan instructed the dealer. "Two pictures. Put two pictures on the board."

"Keep it low!" pleaded his opponent. The dealer spread a flop of {8-Spades} {J-Clubs} {8-Hearts}.

"There's one," said Tan. "Now put another." The turn was the {Q-Diamonds}. "Ok, another." The river wasn't a picture, but it was the {8-Clubs}. That made a full house for Tan and eliminated his opponent from the tournament.

Tan now has about 35,000 chips.

Meirelles Does Broadway

Priscilla Meirelles
Priscilla Meirelles
Despite being a few minutes late back from the dinner break, Priscilla Meirelles has wasted little time in getting back into the swing of things.

After the flop was checked, Meirelles turned the broadway straight holding {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and fired 2,200 on the turn and river against Dimitrios Pappis, who cringed on he river before making a call with {A-?}{J-?} for two pair.

"I thought you were going to raise!" exclaimed Meirelles.

"I was going to", explained Dimitrios "but I was just so lost in the hand!"

Dimitrios slips under 40,000 while Meirelles jumps up to 30,000.

Kastle Trips Up Opponent

Casey Kastle has been sleepy all day, having just arrived into Manila about an hour before the tournament started. We imagine he probably perked up a bit after flopping trips with {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} on a board of {10-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {10-Spades} and getting all-in action from {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} The turn and river bricked out to allow Kastle to scoop the pot. When the smoke all cleared, Kastle had increased his stack to about 22,000.
