Ogura Strikes Back

Takashi Ogura is still alive in this tournament, thanks to a timely cracking of aces held by Loi Van Tran. There was 30,000 in the pot preflop. The two men took a flop of {10-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. Ogura acted first and moved in for 13,500. Tran took his time thinking out his action before calling Ogura's bet and tabling {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}. He was up against a royal flush draw, {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}. Ogura filled his straight on the turn with the {K-Clubs} and his flush on the river with the {2-Hearts}. He doubled up, and knocked Tran down to 7,000 in the process.

Sia Builds Boat to Survive

Eric Sia moved all in from late position for about 13,000 and Takács Roland called in the small blind.

Roland tabled {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} as Sia was caught with a moderate {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}. However the board was all Sia when it fell {3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{A-Hearts} giving Sia a full house and a double-up to about 28,000. Roland was left shaking his head with only 2,500 behind.

Ellis Picks Up Where She Left Off

Tasha Ellis, from Day 1b
Tasha Ellis, from Day 1b
Tasha Ellis was the Day 1b chip leader and came into today as one of only three players with more than 100,000 chips. She accumulated those chips yesterday with very aggressive play and hasn't let up today. After Takashi Ogura opened from the cutoff for 2,500, Ellis re-popped it from the big blind to 6,500. Ogura called, leaving himself 13,800 behind.

On the {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} flop, Ellis asked Ogura how much he had, then calmly announced that she was all in. Ogura quickly folded.

Zsolt Starts Well

Garamvolgyi Zsolt has got off to the perfect start today after doubling up through Michael Marvanek.

Zsolt found {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and moved his chips in the middle to be up against Marvanek's {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop all but ended the hand as it arrived {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} to give Zsolt a set. The turn was the {10-Hearts} giving Marvanek the smallest of hopes with one out in the deck but the {4-Diamonds} fell on the river to double Zsolt up to 27,000.

The very next hand Zsolt moved all in once again in a massive overbet. The tabled folded around and wouldn't you know it, Zsolt flashed {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} once again!
