Sim Somyung Eliminated in 3rd Place ($58,000)

Sim Somyung eliminated in 3rd place
Sim Somyung eliminated in 3rd place
Preflop, Dong-bin Han opened to 110,000 and Sim Somyung moved over the top all-in. Han called pretty quickly.

Somyung: {j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Han: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The {7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop gave Somyung outs to a gutshot straight, that Han would have to fade to get things heads up. The {A-Hearts} on the turn meant any paint would keep Somyung alive.

The {4-Clubs} river was not a face card, and therefore we lose Somyung in third place, and advance to heads up play here at the PokerStars.net APPT Cebu.

The Hilton and Han Show

With Sim Somyung's stack reduced to about 13 big blinds, the final table has become all about David Hilton and Dong-bin Han. Hilton limped into a pot before Han raised it up to 110,000. Hilton called to a flop of {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. Hilton checked, then glanced at Han in surprise as Han made a large over-bet of 500,000. Hilton checked how may chips Han was playing, then threw away his hand. Han flashed the {5-Clubs}.

Hilton Opens Gash in Han's Stack

Big pot! Sim Somyung opened the action for 100,000, then watched as David Hilton re-raised to 300,000 and Dong-bin Han tank-called that raise. That was enough for Somyung. He folded his hand.

With Somyung out of the way, Hilton and Han took a flop of {J-Spades} {10-Spades} {10-Clubs}. Hilton checked and called a bet of 220,000 from Han. Both players then checked the {A-Hearts}, taking the action to the {2-Diamonds} river. Hilton fired a shell at Han by betting 450,000. Han tanked for several minutes, even attempting to talk to Hilton and stare him down. Hilton made no response and eventually tok down the pot when Han open-mucked {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}, a pair of jacks.

Han Getting Crafty

With three players left, Dong-bin Han seems to be mixing things up a bit. David Hilton opened a pot to 105,000. Han and Sim Somyung both called, giving us a "family pot" with about 330,000 up for grabs.

All three players checked the {2-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} flop. Han again checked the turn, prompting Somyung to bet 150,000. That was enough to fold Hilton. With action back on Han, he moved all in! Somyung quickly folded, and good thing for him -- Han showed {K-?} {K-?} for a full house, kings full of deuces.

Kevin Clark Eliminated in 4th Place ($40,728)

Kevin Clark - 4th Place
Kevin Clark - 4th Place
Kevin Clark was short-stacked for almost the entire final table. Sitting with the button, he pushed all in for about 500,000. David Hilton snap-called from the big blind with {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Clark found himself in a bad spot when he turned over {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. There was something for everyone on a flop of {Q-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}, with Hilton making a set of nines and Clark holding the nut flush draw and a pair. The turn {4-Diamonds} left Clark looking for a river heart, but it wasn't to be. The river fell {3-Spades} to bounce Clark to the rail in fourth place.

We're down to three players. Dong-bin Han retains the chip lead.
