By the Numbers

With 80 players remaining in the tournament midway through the 12th level of play, the average chip stack is 146,025.

There are ten tables in play, with eight players at each. Tournament director Danny McDonagh says we're definitely playing six full levels today, unless we somehow narrow the field to 48 players before then.

Cohen's Straight Cracked On River

On the flop of {J-Hearts} {9-Spades} {8-Hearts}, Paul Albino and Joel Cohen got all in for a pot worth 150,000 chips. Albino held {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} to Cohen's {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. Albino would need the board to pair in order to overcome Cohen's straight.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and then the river was the {9-Clubs}, giving Albino the board pair he needed to double up. He now has 150,000 while Cohen dropped to 105,000.

The Kastle Crumbles

Casey Kastle
Casey Kastle
Short-stacked, Casey Kastle got his last ~25,000 all in before the flop in great shape holding {A-?}{K-?} against Frank Galea's {A-?}{J-?}, but Galea managed to spike a jack on the turn to win the pot and send Kastle to the rail.

Galea stacked up right around 200,000 in chips after the hand.

Tom Grigg Gets Another Gift

On a {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs} board Asier Aberro led out with a bet, only to be raised by Grigg. Aberro came back over the top all in for well over 100k, and Grigg thought for just a moment before making the call. He asked Aberro if he had ace-queen as he flipped over the {j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Aberro did not, and disgustedly turned over the {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. The river was the {8-Hearts}, eliminating Aberro and further extending Grigg's chip lead. He looked to have about 590,000.

Billy "The Croc" Argyros Doubles; Still Freerolling

"The Croc" is still short-stacked.
"The Croc" is still short-stacked.
Billy "The Croc" Argyros, who has been spouting about how he should have been eliminated by Rami Ykmour earlier in the tournament staved elimination once again. He got it all in with {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and was called by Eric Assadourian, who had {a-?}{q-?}.

The flop was {7-Hearts}{7-?}{5-?}, with the turn, and the river both being hearts as well giving Argyros a runner-runner flush.

After the hand "The Croc" looked for Rami, saying something along the lines of "I can't wait to win this tournament, so i can rub it in your face." He is still a long way to go, sitting at 45,000.
