Feelin' It

Phil Ivey sat down and has gone straight to work, picking up a couple thousand chips in this pot. We picked up the action on the flop with the board reading {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts} where Ivey check-called a bet of 500 from his opponent. The turn was the {A-Spades} and Ivey checked. HIs opponent checked behind.

The river completed the board when the {6-Clubs} landed. Ivey fired 1,500 and that sent his opponent into the tank. Eventually, the player called. Ivey rolled over the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for two pair. His opponent mucked with a disgusted look on his face and Ivey won the pot.

Chan Doesn't Have It

We came to the action on Justin Chan's table with a flop showing {10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Chan going toe-to-toe with one opponent.

Chan's opponent led for 3,800 and Chan made the call as the {a-Clubs} hit the turn. This time the play would be checked to Chan and he thought for a few moments before betting out 9,000. An eventual call would see the {j-Clubs} land on the river.

Chan's opponent checked, at which point Chan starred towards his opponent as he went into the tank. After a while Chan opted to check and his opponent said, "I think i have you," as he tabled his {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

Indeed, the player was correct as Chan's hand went into the muck. Chan is now down to only 10,300.

Late Arrivals

Vos Quickly Out of the Way

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The player from under the gun made it 500 to go before Mark Vos made the call in middle position. Another player in late position decided to come along for the rise, while the big blind would also pay the extra to see a flop.

Flop: {3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The four players decided to check the action and watched as the {10-Spades} hit the turn. The play was checked to Vos and he threw out a 500-chip bet.

As cards went into the muck from all directions, Vos would glance to his right as a check-raise was made from the under the gun player. Almost as quickly as Vos had noticed the raise, his cards were flung into the muck as he sent the pot to his opponent.

Chen Setting up an Early Start

It didn't take long for Victor Chen to see his stack increase exponentially and we caught all the action.

It was a raised pot between Chen and one opponent which saw a {J-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop hit the felt, at which point Chen led for 625. His opponent thought for a few moments before making it 1,050 more to go.

Chen counted out his stack and then threw out another raise, before his opponent sent out yet another raise. At this points Chen was only left with five chips - albeit five of the largest denomination chips - as he played with his remaining 25,000 while contemplating his next move. After a few minutes in the tank, Chen flung out his 25,000 and his opponent looked pained as he watched them hit the felt.

After another couple of minutes, Chen's opponent slid his stack in and cringed when Chen table {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for top-set, which was well ahead of his two-pair with {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

The turn and river bricked out as Chen took down the huge pot to become an early chip leader, while his opponent was left with only a few thousand chips.
