Willcocks Taking Chips

Phil Willcocks has posted a couple of nice results this year, having final table finishes in both the 2011 APPT Melbourne and the 2011 ANZPT Melbourne. Willcocks will be looking to post similiar results here in Macau and is off to a good start.

The action was started with a raise to 1,000 from middle position. Willcocks then three-bet to 2,000 and the original bettor decided to make the call.

The {7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop brought about checks from both players as the {4-Spades} hit the turn. This time Willcocks would bet 3,000 after his opponent checked the play to him.

When his opponent's cards went into the muck, Willcocks took down the nice pot and added to his growing stack.

Barbero's Flush Paid Off By Waki

Yasuhiro Waki had checked the river on a board of {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Team PokerStars Pro Nacho Barbero was his opponent and he bet 6,000. Waki tanked for a little bit and then made the call.

Barbero tabled the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a club flush. Waki nodded and mucked, allowing Barbero to take it and chip up to 41,000.

Benton Chipping Up with Queens

The 2009 APPT Sydney champion Aaron Benton is up to 43,000 after picking up the following pot with two queens.

The under-the-gun player limped and the player in front of Benton in middle position also limped. Benton then raised to 1,700. The hijack seat made the call behind Benton and the first limped called. The second limper folded.

The flop came down {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and action checked to Benton. He bet 3,200. His two opponents both folded and Benton showed the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} to win the pot.

The Early Big Stack

The player sitting behind the largest stack seems to be Charles Chua at this early stage on Day 1b at the 2011 APPT Macau Main Event.

Well Played Wang

The action was started by Jacky Wang in early position and he opened the pot to 525. A middle position player then three-bet to 2,000 at which point the action went flying back around to Wang. Wang then four-bet to 5,525 and his opponent thought for a few moments before making the call.

Flop: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

On the flop, Wang continued his aggression, sliding out a 6,000-chip bet.

"Alright, nice hand, well played," his opponent said as he sent the pot to Wang.

Rubie Can't Take This One with Bluff

The board was {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} and action went check, check between one player and Brendon Rubie. The river completed the board when the {8-Spades} fell. There was now a pair of eights on board plus four spades. The first player checked and Rubie bet 1,700. His opponent made the call.

Rubie showed the {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for just queen high. His opponent tabled the {J-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for two pair and won the hand.
