Comer And Doria

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Martin Comer was under the gun when he made a raise to 600. In middle position, [Removed:415] made the call before the player in the cutoff seat made it 1,200 to go. With Comer and Doria making the call, the flop would hit the felt with the {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

Comer opted to check and Doria made it 1,925. With the initial aggressor out of the way after folding, Comer made the call to see the {4-Spades} hit the turn. A check again from Comer and this time Doria would move all in for his remaining 10,925.

Comer went into the tank for a bit before folding and sending the pot to Doria.

Chatty Portaro

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Bruno Portaro
Bruno Portaro

Bruno Portaro got quite chatty over at his table, as the following hand played out.

Portaro limped from early position and said, "Just this one time, I won't raise."

With a couple of callers, the player in the big blind would raise it to 1,725. Portaro then said, "Just this one time, I will call," before all the other players got out of the way.

"All red and all low please," quipped Portora as the flop fell {k-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

The big blind led out for 3,000 which prompted Portaro to ask, "How much you got? Oh wait, i see... plenty." After some thought, Portaro made the call to see the {3-Diamonds} roll off on the turn.

"Now it's getting interesting!" Portaro exclaimed at the sight of the three before his opponent fired out 7,000.

Portaro then went into the tank for a few minutes, looking pained at the decision in front of him. "Can you give me a hint of what I'm up against?" Asked Portaro. His opponent then proceeded to push his stack in front of him as Portaro said, "No, I meant can you tell me your cards!"

Eventually making the call Portaro would see the {q-Hearts} fall on the river, which prompted an all-in bet from his opponent. Portaro folded his {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} face up, not managing to hit his straight or his flush and fell to around 20,000.

Melbourne's Champ

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Tudor Kondevski knows what it takes to win in this city after taking down the Melbourne Poker Championship title and the $150,000 prize to go along with it in 2009. Kondevski will be looking to find similiar form here at the APPT.

Folded to Kondevski on the button, he raised to 750 and the big blind made the call.

The flop showed {3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the play was checked to Kondevski who fired out 1,050. A call from the big blind would see the turn roll out the {9-Diamonds}. This time the player opted for a check-raise, making it 6,000 after Kondevski bet 2,200. Kondevski showed that he wouldn't be pushed around, going for a reraise to 15,000.

After tanking, Kondevski's opponent decided to fold and Kondevski moved to over 40,000.

The players have been sent on their first break of the day.

See you back here in 15 minutes.

David The Goliath

David Stiecke is sitting in front of the biggest stack we can see around the room, with a tall pile of 5,000-denomination chips sitting atop his stack. We're not exactly sure how he managed to grow his stack to this size, but with a few players gone from his table we can certainly make a few presumptions.

Been Playing This Game A While

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Tony Hachem
Tony Hachem

Tony Hachem has just managed to explain to PokerNews why he sits with a handy 55,000-chip stack, relaying this hand to us just moments ago.

Apparently, Hachem made it 600 to go preflop, with two players from late position and an early-position limper making the call to see a flop of {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

With the pot at roughly 2,400, the early-position limper fired out 6,000 -- two-and-a-half times the pot. It was at this point that Hachem asked his opponent how much he had behind. Hachem was told it was another 11,000, at which point Hachem said, "Alright, I'm all in." His opponent made the call and Hachem said, "You've got ace-jack?" His opponent turned over {a-}{j-} and asked Hachem, "How did you know?"

"Yeah, I've just been playing this game a long time now," Hachem replied as he turned over his {k-}{k-}.

The {k-Hearts} on the turn and the {3-Hearts} on the river would be no help to Hachem's opponent who held no hearts, as Hachem moved to 55,000 with his set of kings.
