Gunther Hornung (16th) and Michael Guttman (15th) Eliminated ($15,100)

Michael Guttman - 15th Place
Michael Guttman - 15th Place

One of the biggest and most interesting pots of the day just took place over on Table 31. Three players were involved, but only one came out victories: Sam Razavi. He is now the tournament chip leader with only 14 players remaining.

Michael Guttman raised under the gun to 25,000, and the players to his left, Gunther Hornung, called. Sam Razavi decided to three-bet to 100,000 after Vineet Jindal had folded. The other players folded all the way back to Guttman.

The dealer announced that the raise 100,000 total, or 75,000 more, was. Guttman thought it was 75,000 total, and threw in 25,000 chips short of the amount. At that point Hornung verbally announced "Call". The tournament director reminded both players that they had to put in the full 100,000, and three-way they saw a flop.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, and Guttman moved all in for all of his 440,000 chips. Hornung had only 30,000 chips left, and called quickly as did Razavi who risked a huge portion of his stack. The total pot was around 1.2 million, and the following cards were shown.

Gunther Hornung{8-Spades}{7-Spades}
Michael Guttman{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Sam Razavi{K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The turn was the {2-Spades}, and the river the {4-Diamonds}, giving Razavi a massive pot and the double knockout.

"If you wanna have you fun you need some lubrication!" Razavi shouted as he couldn't help it but laugh. "I'm coming for you Mister Bentley! I've got the Rolls Royce now," Razavi added with a smile.

Moments later, in order to balance the tables, Wayne Bentley was moved over to Razavi's table. "You are just in time my friend!" Razavi said to Bentley who brought over his own big stack. We could see a huge British clash now!

Grigg Gets Value From Benson

Folded to Tom Grigg in the hijack, he would open the pot to 25,000. Gary Benson, on Grigg's direct left, three-bet to 75,000. Grigg opted to call and the dealer flipped over a {8-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop. Grigg checked here and then called a bet of 100,000 from Benson. Both players decided it would be best to check the {3-Hearts} turn and it was on to the {5-Hearts} river.

Grigg led for 140,000 here and Benson instantly called. Grigg's {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} was too strong for Benson's [ahjh, with Grigg scooping up the handy pot and leaving Benson with one of the shortest stacks.

Razavi Takes a Chunk From Rubie

On a {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop Sam Razavi checked to Brendon Rubie who bet 65,000 from the cutoff. Razavi was under the gun, and he opted to call.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and both players checked. On the river the {10-Spades} hit, and Razavi checked once more. Rubie fired out 130,000, and the Brit went into the tank for a few seconds.

He called eventually and showed his {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Rubie mucked, and slipped under the average.

Bentley Gets Value

Wayne Bentley raised to 30,000 from the cutoff and Tom Grigg called from the button. The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Bentley fired out 30,000. Grigg quickly called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Bentley bet 40,000. Grigg looked at his opponent, and threw in the call.

On the river the {Q-Spades} hit, and Bentley checked right away. Grigg tanked for a bit before eventually betting 85,000. Bentley quietly mumbled something, before taking some chips from his stack. He counted out a raise to 200,000, and threw that into the pot.

Grigg seemed flustered by this move, and it took him around a minute to decide he wanted to call.

"Straight to the king," Bentley said as he turned over his {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Grigg mucked his cards, and Bentley took over the chip lead once again.

Mistakes, Mistakes, Everywhere

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

An interesting hand just played out on Table 31. It started when Gunther Hornung opened the pot to 21,000 from under the gun. A flurry of cards then went into the muck from around the table until it was on Kristian Lunardi in the cut-off seat. At this point, Lunardi flicked out 20,000 and the table wondered what he was doing. Lunardi realised what happened - he thought he was opening the pot, not calling a raise. Honest mistake, and so Lunardi put in an extra 1,000. The play was then on Karan Punjabi on the button and he decided to raised it up to 60,000. Brendon Rubie was in the small blind and at this point, Hornung folded out of turn. Back to Rubie and he figured he might as well move all in. The rest of the table got out of the way, Rubie raked in the pot and Hornung got a one-orbit penalty for folding out of turn.
