The 16 remaining players have been sent on a dinner break. The players quickly took their new seats (two tables of eight) and scrambled off to fill their stomachs with food for the next 60 minutes. We will have a draw of the final two tables posted at the return of play. See you back here at around 7:40 PM local time.
In the meantime, here is some dinner break entertainment with Levy VS Kemp:
Wayne Bentley just received a one-round penalty for calling out of turn in a situation where there were still two players with action.
Bentley raised it up to 25,000 from the hijack after which Tom Grigg three-bet to 58,000 from the cutoff. Gary Benson folded his button, and the action was on Tam Truong in the small blind.
At this point Bentley thought the action was on him. While Truong was still tanking, Bentley opted to call, and the dealer told made him aware of the situation. Bentley apologized and Truong had the rules explained to him. If he would call Bentley's bet would stand, but if he decided to raise Bentley would be able to take his money back, in case he wanted to do that.
Truong then slid out a big stack of 150,000, and the action went to Ismail Ismail in the big blind. He pondered for a while as well, but eventually laid his hand down. Bentley now took his bet back, and Grigg folded giving the pot to Truong.
After the hand was over the tournament director told Bentley he would receive a one-round penalty for acting out of turn. Bentley stood up from the table, and quietly sat out his punishment.
Liam O'Rourke took a huge hit to his stack against Tom Grigg just a short while ago and has now been eliminated at the hands of Gary Benson. O'Rourke's last hand saw him all in holding . Once again he ran into pocket-aces, having to go up against Benson's .
The board ran out with five bricks and that was it for O'Rourke. The 2012 ANZPT Sydney runner-up finisher was sent home with $12,080 here in Melbourne.
A huge hand has just played out over on Table 32, with the action resulting in Tom Grigg becoming the new chip leader. The hand in question began with Grigg opening to 20,000 from under the gun. Tam Truong then three-bet to 50,000 from the button. Liam O'Rourke was in the big blind and opted to cold four-bet to 120,000. Back on Grigg and he jammed all in, having a stack of over 600,000. Truong got out of the way and it was on O'Rourke - who started the hand with a stack of around 750,000. Eventually O'Rourke made the call and the two players turned their hands over.
O'Rourke:
Grigg:
Unfortunately for O'Rourke, he had run into Grigg's pocket-aces and when the board ran out , O'Rourke was left with a tiny stack compared to what he once had. At the end of the hand, O'Rourke looked fairly unhappy with himself. With that, Grigg once again has a monstrous chip stack.
Speaking of these two, Lynn Gilmartin had a chat with O'Rourke during the last break about sharing a table with Grigg:
That's what Billy 'The Croc' Argyros yelled after the German player Gunther Hornung just managed to double up. Hornung was all in from the small blind for 90,000 against Kristina Lunardi, who was in the big blind.
Karan Punjabi raised to 20,000 from the button, and he got three-bet to 45,000 by Michael Guttman, who was in the big blind. Punjabi called and the flop came down .
Guttman threw out a 40,000-chip continuation bet and Punjabi called. The turn was the and Guttman quickly put out a bet of 100,000. Punjabi tanked for a bit and folded.
