Rebuy Charity Event Collects ₱166,670 ($3,135) for the City of Dreams Manila Corporate Social Responsibility Program

At noon local time, the Rebuy Charity Event PHP 300,000 Guarantee started here in the beautiful City of Dreams Manila Resort and Casino. City of Dreams Manila is an integrated resort and casino that features 3 luxurious hotel brands and various premium dining outlets. It boasts of an iconic Fortune Egg that houses Chaos nightclub known to bring in top-notch acts from around world. City of Dreams is also home to the very first DreamWorks inspired DreamPlay that offers one-of-a-kind entertainment for the whole family.

A grand total of 86 players entered the tournament for ₱5,000 which equals around $96 of which ₱600 will go to the City of Dreams Manila Corporate Social Responsibility Program. Of those 86 players, 77 of them have rebought and 71 of them opted to pay for an add-on for ₱1,000 for 5,000 in chips. The full amount of the add-on has also been added to the fund for charity. In total, an amazing amount of ₱166,670 ($3,135) has been collected for charity.

In 2017 the program included provisions for basic needs, activities in the social and educational areas for orphans and the elderly. It also helped with annual blood donations for the Red Cross. Emergency help during disasters.

The program contributed to the 'Brigada Eskawala' campaign or the National Schools Maintenance Week is a nationwide initiative by the Department of Education that mobilizes thousands and thousands of volunteers to do repairs, maintenance work, and clean-up of public elementary and secondary schools.

Some examples of the initiatives:

  • Spoonful of Dreams: care of orphans and street kids
  • Connecting Dreams: quality time spent with the elderly
  • Headful of Dreams: educational session provided to kids and elderly
  • Hopeful Dreams: hospital visits to the patients in need
  • Growing Dreams: environmental protection projects

There are currently still 18 players left in the tournament of which 10 will be in the money. The total prize pool is ₱695,684 and a min-cash is worth ₱20,984 and the winner will walk away with ₱187,800.
