Tournament Room

Near the end of level five, the tournament info shows 172 entries to boost the overall attendance to more than 350 entries. This has officially ensured that the $400,000 guarantee is not only met but easily surpassed already with five levels of late registration on Day 1b and the turbo heat 1c still to come.

So far, there are $455,706 in the pot but that number will very likely increase further in the hours to follow.

Daoxing Chen
Daoxing Chen

Daoxing Chen committed the last 4,000 chips and left a single chip behind for Sven McDermott and one further player to call as Christopher Mateo also came along. On the 876 flop, Chen moved all-in and McDermott raised to 800 as Mateo check-folded.

Daoxing Chen: 55
Sven McDermott: AJ

The 7 turn and 10 river ensured a triple up for Chen, who then limped the next hand. McDermott raised to 1,500 and three players including Mateo and Chen came along this time.

On a 764 flop, Mateo bet out of the small blind and Chen raised to 7,000. It folded back to Mateo, who pushed as Chen called all-in for 11,100.

Daoxing Chen: 109
Christopher Mateo: 54

The 8 turn improved Chen, and so did the 2 river as he jumped back to the starting stack within two hands.

Double Knockout for Hendri

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Krishnan Menon and Nang Quang Nguyen were spotted on the way to the rail while Jhon Hendri was all smiles, as he had just sent both of them to the rail and boosted his already big stack further.

"Wait, was that raise, reraise and all-in with five-high?" Fang-Kei Yang inquired and couldn't resist a smile. Indeed, 33 and 53 were still exposed at the table but neither of them was good. Hendri's A4 flopped two pair and held on a board of A74KJ to dispatch two opponents.

Four ways to a 95310 turn, Gokul Dharmarajan bet 3,500 and two opponents folded. Shardul Parthasarathi then pushed all-in for 22,500 and that sent the fellow player from India into the tank. Dharmarajan inquired if Parthasarathi would show one card if he folded to then let go, and none of the cards were exposed after all.
