Nelson Doubles

On a flop of {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, Lee Nelson fired out 19,000 and Nino Ascenzio put him all in. Nelson made the call with {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for top pair, while Ascenzio revealed {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and river the {8-Diamonds} to make Nelson the backdoor straight and give him the double up. He's back to 63,000 with Ascenzio down to 100,000.

Morton Eliminates Bamford

Errol Bamford
Errol Bamford
David Morton has eliminated Errol Bamford within sight of the final table. All the chips were in preflop with Morton's {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} in control against Bamford's {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{5-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Bamford's set of kings was not enough to get past Morton's set of aces and he is sent to the rail. Morton is now up to 55,000 chips.

Ali Out

Gursel Ali, during the Main Event
Gursel Ali, during the Main Event
Gursel Ali is the latest to head back home after his very pretty {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} was cracked by Sean Dunwoodie's {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}. The board fell {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Clubs} to give Dunwoodie the flush and end the tournament for Ali.

Dunwoodie is up to 65,000.

Ascenzio Ascends Pack

Nino Ascenzio has scooped a monster pot to eliminate two players and storm to the tournament lead.

We were unable to catch the action, but Ascenzio held {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and made the nut straight when the board fell {10-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} to send Bjorn van Bavel and Antonio Paino to the rail.

Ascenzio is now up to 135,000 chips.
