Not So Dull Pot

Jonathan Dull has emerged as our chip leader just before dinner. In a mammoth pot he doubled up to over 100,000 in chips.

Preflop Dull opened from under the gun 800, and action folded round to the player in the big blind who repopped it to 3,200. Dull made the call, and took a {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{j-Spades} flop.

On the flop the big blind check called a 4,000 bet from Dull. The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and the big blind fired out 10,000 sending Dull into the tank. Eventually he made the call.

The river {3-Clubs} saw the big blind immediate shove his entire stack into the pot Phil Hellmuth style and almost before he could finish that Dull snap called all in for only slightly less.

Before the big blind player had a chance to roll his cards over, Dull slammed {A-Spades}{q-Spades} onto the table jumped from his chair and began celebrating with multiple fist pumps. The other player looked distraught and mucked his cards.

Dull moves over 106,000.

On the eve of the dinner break Trung Tran has just sent a player to a dinner break a little less happy.

Tran led the betting on every street with his opponent calling all in on the river with the board reading {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Tran tabled his {8-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a straight and the pot as he jumped to 27,000 as the players head to dinner.

Jimmy Siu opened to 1,000 and James Obst called out of the big blind. On a flop of {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} Obst check-raised to 6,000 over Siu's 2,600 bet with Siu making the call.

The turn fell the {Q-Diamonds} and Obst moved all in with Siu tank-folding the {K-Spades}. Following that hand Obst moved up to 90,000 as Siu slips to 22,200 in chips.

Mednis Cripples Binger

The aftermath of Mednis and Binger
The aftermath of Mednis and Binger
Jason Mednis opened to 850 from the cutoff and was met with a re-raise by Michael Binger to 2,500. With the action back on Mednis he thought for a while before putting in another raise; this time to 6,500.

Confused by this, Binger sat there shuffling chips for a minute before asking for a count. Once given, he cut down his chips to see how much he had and after yet another minute he moved all in for an additional 19,250 total to call.

Mednis sat back in his chair with his arms on his heads for over three minutes before stating, "What the hell . . . I call" for what remained of his 16,550 stack.

Binger shook his head before seeing Mednis table {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The shake of Binger's head got more pronounced and then he casually flipped over his {9-Spades}{8-Spades} in awe at the call from Mednis.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} to see Mednis double to around 46,000 as Binger was left with under 3,000 in chips.
