Smoko!

The players have been sent on another 10-minute break.

We have also been advised by Crown staff that if we reach 24 players before 2am, then play will continue until we reach 18 or 12 (depending on the speed of play).

However, if 24 players are left after 2am, then play will cease for the day.

Mortensen Varboek Eliminated

Eoin Kennedy has just eliminated Mortensen Varboek.

We didn't catch Varboek's hand as it had been mucked, but Kennedy had him beat with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} on a {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades} board for a set.

Kennedy is up to around 98,000 in chips.

Goodnight Mr. Nelson

Lee 'Final Table' Nelson has just been sent to the rail by Gruissen Philipp.

According to Philipp's recount, Nelson moved all in with pocket fours and found himself up against Philipp's {a-?}{q-?}.

Phillip won the race when the ace came down on the flop and ended the 2006 Aussie Millions Main Event champion's run.

Hachem Hung Out to Dry

2005 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem has just been eliminated at the hands of Benjamin Alacam.

Hachem got the last of his short stack into the middle preflop with pocket kings, but Alacam called him down with {a-?}{a-?}.

The board improved neither hand and the rest was elementary, my dear Watson.

Alacam is up to 68,000 in chips.

Vakili Netter-ed

Reza Vakili has just been eliminated in the space of two hands by Tyler Netter.

The money was all in the middle preflop between Vakili and Netter in the first hand and we got there as the cards were tabled:

Vakili: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Netter: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Vakili was in the lead but lost it when the board was spread {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} to give Netter the better two pair.

Left with just 19,000 in chips, he moved it all in a short time later with {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and found himself flipping for his tournament life against Netter's {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Vakili was vanquished. Netter nets a whole bag of chips, now sitting on a stack worth 131,000.

Dosuna Done and Dusted

We just managed to catch a board of {k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} between Daniel Neilson and Javier Dosuna.

Neilson had tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} but we didn't catch Dosuna's hand as it had been already mucked by the dealer. Dosuna was left with just 19,000 in chips, but it would have been only 4,000, had Neilson noticed the discrepancy by the dealer.

The only problem was, a hand had played out in between and the floorman ruled that the chips stay with Dosuna. "Fair enough," said Neilson.

They didn't stay with Dosuna for long - he moved them all in the very next hand with {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} but was called by Sam Weir who tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Dosuna was sent to the rail.

First Prize Amended

There was an error with the prizes listed earlier (which was taken from the tournament clock display).

As it turns out, the calculator had worked out the prize pool at 100.8%. This has been adjusted, and the only change was that of first place, which is AUD $118,580.

We apologise for any confusion.

Youssef, Otte Eliminated

Sammy Youssef has been amongst the recent spate of eliminations, along with Johannes Otte, who moved all in with pocket eights, only to find Oliver Speidel waiting with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{a-Spades}, sending Otte out and Speidel is first past the 200k mark, now up to 226,000 in chips!

Pierre, Kamutzki Eliminated

Lenoi Pierre has just been sent packing at the hands of Robert Lum after attempting to bluff him off a pot on the river, only to run into Lum's pocket aces.

Heinz Kamutzki has also been eliminated, courtesy of Kristian Lunardi.

Kamutzi moved the last of his money into the middle with {j-?}{j-?}, but Lunardi woke up with {a-?}{a-?} and the board improved neither hand.

Lunardi is up to 134,000 in chips.
