Ryan Mckay limped in from early position only to have Michael Pedley make it 1,100 to go from the hi-jack.
The big blind called, as did Mckay, to see a

flop fall. The big blind and Mckay checked to Pedley who opted to fire out 2,700.
The big blind passed, but Mckay moved all in for roughly 8,300 and Pedley made the call.

The turn and river landed the
and
to end Mckay's tournament prematurely as Pedley climbs to roughly 20,000 in chips.
With James Akenhead leading out for 1,400 on the

board, both Jimmy Wong and Yann Pauchon made the call as the fourth opponent in the hand folded.
The river landed the
and Akenhead and Wong both tapped the table from the big blind and under the gun before Pauchon pushed his last 4,975 into the pot from the hi-jack.
Akenhead deliberated for some time before folding as Wong tossed in five grey 1,000-denomination chips into the pot.
Pauchon shook his head and pushed his cards in the direction of the dealer.
"I called you with one-pair!" stated Wong as he tabled his
for third pair.
"Wow! Sick!" added Pauchon as he flung his cards to the muck and quietly left the table.
Steve "stevoL" Leonard has found a double to put him over average.
Finding himself all in for his last 7,950 from out of the blinds holding

The board rolled out

to ensure Leonard's double as he moved to over 16,000 in chips.

Vincent "Wonky" Wan called a raise preflop from the cutoff before the player on the button slid out a three-bet. The original raiser passed, but Wan made the call as the

flop was spread with roughly 4,000 in the pot.
Wan checked and the button continued for 2,525 only to have Wan toss out five grey 1,000-denomination chips. Unfortunately not being enough to raise - but still enough to constitute a raise - Wan was forced to make it 5,050 straight which his opponent called after a lengthy time deliberating.
The turn landed the
and Wan pushed his remaining 9,075 into the pot to put his opponent into the tank once again.
Several minutes went by before Jim Sachinidis called time, and with that, the tanking player kicked his cards to the muck.
Wan scooped the pot to move to 24,000, and we at PokerNews thought it would a good time to ask the 2008 Champion of this very event a few questions.

Yann Pauchon opened to 800 and was met with a call by James Akenhead before a third player in the hand three-bet to 4,000.
Pauchon went deep into the tank before folding as Akenhead moved all in. The three-bettor made the call for his last few thousand as Pauchon announced he folded
.

2008 PokerNews Cup Champion Nali Kaselias limped in, and once another player followed suit, local tournament grinder Dean McIver bumped it up to 1,150 from late position.
Once the blinds passed, Kaselias moved all in to force the limper to fold, and McIver to commit his 4,650 total.
