This time it was 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event winner Tyron Krost who would feel the bitter sting of the rail.
Albert Minnullin moved all-in for 5,300 from the cut off and the action came to Krost who re-shipped for his remaining 16,300. Oliver Speidel was in the small blind and when he called he would put both players at risk and make for a double elimination chance!
Minnullin:
Krost:
Speidel:
With four cards out it was was looking pretty good for Speidel as he would send two players packing, but the on the river kept Minnullin alive while Speidel's hand would be good enough to leave Krost empty handed.
Peter Dykes is now on the growing list of casualties late into the night after moving in with his remaining thre big blinds and not being able to double-up holding against Joey Lovelady's with the falling on the river of an otherwise bricked board.
Faraz Jaka was in the small blind when he was faced with a raise from Oliver Speidel in the cut-off. It would be 1,800 to see a flop but Jaka decided the more prudent move was to ship it! Speidel called and here the cards come.
Speidel:
Jaka:
The board ran out , both players making the pair but Jaka's not good enough to keep him alive. Jaka will have to try again another day if he wants to add a 2011 Aussie Millions win to his resume
JP Kelly wouldn't have liked the look of the flop with his tournament life in danger against Andrew Scarf's . He was going to need to dodge alot of bullets if his was going to hold up.
The on the turn was safe, as was the on the river.
Scarf falls to around 20,000 while Kelly has a much healthier 32,000.
Oliver Speidel told Faraz Jaka that he made a good call pre-flop, and it was, but after the board ran out it didnt look quite as good.
Jaka raised up front and the action folded around to Speidel in the small blind. He shoved all-in for around 11,175. Jaka tanked for some time before calling off his opponent.
Jaka:
Speidel:
This is where Jaka was told he made a good call but sometimes a good call doesnt mean anything with lady luck taunting Jaka and giving a helping hand to Speidel.
Another elimination is in the books as Jeff Chu moves up the chip leader board.
Chu raised from middle position and the action came around to Tam Truong on the button. Truong shoved all-in for his remaining 5,000 and Chu made the call.
Truong:
Chu:
The board rolled off , the ace on the flop enough to send Troung home after 10 hours of play.
Faraz Jaka yet again was the player to open the pot over on his table, this time electing to make it an even 1,400. All player except one got out of his way with the opponent in the big blind making the call.
Flop:
Both players checked before the rolled off on the turn. The play was checked to Jaka who made it 2,500 to see a river. His opponent threw the chips in the pot.
The river card was the and again the player checked to Jaka, who made it 8,000. The player would be allin if he called and when he moved his last remaining stack of chips in, Jaka was set to send another poor soul home late on day one.
Jake tabled his and takes down another pot moving up to 38,500.
JP Kelly was folded to on the button when he raised into the big blind of Steve "Stev0L" Leonard. Leonard decided to ship his stack in and Kelly called.
Kelly:
Leonard:
An ace and Leonard was out, otherwise he would double-up to around the average stack mark.
Board:
A safe board for Leonard and he doubles through Kelly who falls to 17,500.
