Elezra Doubles through Kelly

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Eli Elezra bet 600 at a {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, and the player to his left folded. On the button, JP Kelly called. The turn brought the {2-Clubs}, and Elezra bet 1,525. Kelly made the quick call. The river was the {8-Hearts}, and Eli moved all in for his last 4,600. Kelly didn't miss a beat before throwing out a 5k chip to call. Elezra tabled {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a straight to the six. Kelly showed an {8-}, but it wasn't enough to knock out the Red Pro. Elezra doubled up, and Kelly is down to 11,000.

Agryros On The Rise

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Billy "The Croc" Argyos is now in excess of 30,000 in chips after making a superb call/soul read.

It was heads-up between Agryos and an opponent on the button on a flop of {K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}; Agryos check-called the button's bet on the flop, then check-raised on the turn of the {J-Spades} to 3,500 after the button opened for 1,050.

Argyros checked again on the river of the {A-Clubs} and the opponent led out for 5,225. Argyros went deep into the tank and barraged his rival with questions to try and gauge some information out of him, but he must have picked up something because he called, showing {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

The button player rolled up {8-Spades}{5-Spades} for nothing but busted straight and flush draws. Awww, SNAP!

Smith Chips Up Big Time

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Daniel Smith may not have had that much luck in last night's $100,000 Challenge, but he's managed to chip up big time in this first level against an opponent.

Our field reporter caught the action on a board of {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}; the opponent checked to Smith who led out for 2,875. The opponent called, then checked again once the river {Q-Diamonds} came down.

Smith fired out 7,725. The opponent went deep into the tank before making a crying call, only to muck after Smith rolled up {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a flopped nut flush!

Smith is now up to over 31,000 while the opponent is on live support with just 7,000 in chips.

One Hand At A Time

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Tino Lechich is one of the best poker players Australia has ever had to offer, with big results spanning many years and adding up to earnings in excess of AUD$900,000. But as you know poker is an ever changing game and you can never stop learning.

"Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time" is the title of the book Lechich can be seen reading over at his table. To be fair, the title of that book makes a valid point and if Lechich goes ahead and takes down the victory it will be sure to sell like gangbusters.

Rough One for Ruthenberg

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

When we arrived, Sebastian Ruthenberg was heads up in a big pot. There was already 10,000 in the middle, and the board read {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. His opponent in the small blind fired 7,200, and after two minutes of thought, Ruthenberg made the call. The small blind showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for top set to scoop the pot. Ruthenberg mucked his way down to 7,000.

Snap Up Them Chips

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Billy "The Croc" Argyros is snapping up the chips early, pulling out all the tricks and check-raising to 2,800 from under the gun after the small blind raised to 1,200.

Flop: {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

The small blind wouldn't be so aggressive this time, checking to Argyros. It would be a 4,200 chip bet from Argyros as he took down the pot moving himself up to 25,000.

Schoenberg Shattered

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Erica Schoenberg will be cursing pocket-kings for the rest of her life, or atleast for the rest of the day.

Schoenberg first saw her stack dwindle after running her kings into two-pair. Oh well, the play must go on. Cut to a few hands later.

Waking up with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} yet again Schoenberg would raise to 1,100 from early position and recieve one caller before a raise to 3,200 would come from Mike Sowers. Schoenberg would then move all of her chips into the pot. A call from Sowers and it wasn't Schoenberg's day as he turned over {a-}{a-}.

If running into kings wasn't enough the {a-} in the window sealed the nail in Schoenberg's coffin, ending her day.

Lucky for Schoenberg, Erick Lindgren was in toe to console his beloved girlfriend as a happy Mike Sowers moves up to 32,000.

Problem Solved?

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The seat mix-up between Maria Ho and Randy Dorfman has been resolved ... to a certain extent.

As it turns out, Dorfman was seating in seat 4, but it was supposed to be on table 32, not 26. Upon reviewing the seating allocation tickets, Crown staff were able to establish that this was the case.

However, Ho has now been moved to Dorfman's original table and seat, where she's now up against Aussie online phenom Jarred "flopnutsonyou" Graham. In the meantime, Dorfman is on the sidelines serving a five-minute time penalty, but he will return to Ho's original seat once it expires.

Friedman Picks Up a Pot

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We've got an impressive feature table line-up today, including Aussie poker stalwart Leo Boxell, popular MMA fighter-turned-poker pro Terrence Chan, as well as Full Tilt Poker Red Pros James Akenhead and Perry Friedman.

And it was Friedman and Chan who we just caught locked in a pot recently; the action folded to Chan who raised to 300 from the button and Friedman was the only caller from the big blind.

Friedman check-called Chan's bet of 250 on the flop of {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} before both players checked the turn of the {K-Diamonds} and the river {3-Diamonds}. Friedman showed {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and that was good enough to take the pot down.
