Billy Argyros has just been eliminated late on Day 1a and while we didn't catch all the action, what we did say was quite brutal.
Argyros held and his opponent held . The chips were all in before all the cards were dealt and Argyros was looking happy and set to double. Unfortunately for Argyros the board had ran out and the flush for his opponent meant it was all over for the man they call "The Croc".

Andrew Hinrichsen opened for 4,000 under the gun and cleared the field all the way around to Billy "The Croc" Argyros in the big blind. The latter opted to defend and checked in the dark. When the flop fell , Hinrichsen bet 3,500, Argyros called, and the appeared on the turn.
It went check-check, as it did on the river, and Hinrichsen revealed . Argyros simply mucked as the two essentially pulled even in the chip counts.

Jackie Glazier is currently one of the short stacks in the room but has recently picked up some much needed chips.
A recent hand saw Glazier shove her stack in the middle. The bet was enough to send all of her opponent's cards into the muck. Bruno Portaro was passing by at the time to say hello to Glazier and as he watched the action unfold, he turned to our PokerNews reporter and said, "Did you see what she had? Seven-Deuce!"
After writing the aforementioned Ricky Kroesen hand, we ventured out to the floor and noticed Sorel Mizzi's chair was empty. We know he had dwindled in the past few levels, and now it appears he has hit rock bottom. Mizzi has been eliminated from the tournament.

Ricky Kroesen raised to 4,200 from early position and was met with an all-in reraise to 40,000 by Kahle Burns in middle position. The rest of the field folded back to Kroesen, who made a halfhearted call.
Showdown
Kroesen:
Burns:
Kroesen didn't seem surprised with his predicament, which didn't improve on the flop. Kroesen was in need of an ace or running cards to stay alive, and wouldn't you know it, the spiked on the turn. The river changed nothing and Kroesen sent a shellshocked Burns to the rail while increasing his stack to approximately 100,000.

Action folded to an unknown player on the button and he open-shipped for 19,100, which Grant Levy saw fit to call from the big blind.
Showdown
Levy:
Button:
It was off to the race, though Levy was slightly ahead. The flop kept Levy in the lead, as did the turn; however, the spiked on the river and paired the button's ace. Levy sat stoically as the dealer took from his stack, which dropped to 60,000.

Andrew Hinrichsen opened for 3,300 from early position and found callers in the button and small blind. It was three-way action to the flop and the small blind quickly moved all in for about 16,000. Hinrichsen made the call while the button got out of the way.
Showdown
Hinrichsen:
Small Blind:
Hinrichsen was ahead with top two pair but needed to dodge the straight and flush draw of his opponent. The turn was of no consequence, but the river completed the small blind's flush to give him the double. Hinrichsen dropped to 27,000 on the hand.
