Top Pair for Mahmood

Ayaz Mahmood opened to 1,700 on the button, a player in the small blind three-bet to 4,000, the player in the big blind cold-called, and so too did Mahmood.

The flop fell {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}, all three players checked, and the turn was the {6-Clubs}. The player in the big blind led out for 5,100, and both players called. The {7-Clubs} completed the board, and all three players checked again.

Both players in the blinds showed a king for a pair of kings, but Mahmood had them both beat with {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a pair of aces.

Let's Have a Look Around The Room

Here are the chip counts of most of the players we're tracking so far today.

Payne Dips Down

Brian Payne opened to 1,675, the player who chopped with him earlier called in position, and the dealer fanned {8-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Payne tossed out 2,100, and his opponent called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs}, Payne tossed out four red T500 chips, and the player again called.

The {7-Diamonds} completed the board, and Payne fired 4,550. His opponent quickly raised to 10,900, and Payne folded.

Three-Way All In

After a series of bets and raises, there was a three-way all in here in the poker room. One player was all in for 16,500, Eoghan O'Dea was all in for 23,100, and Raj Ramakrishnan had both of them covered.

Player 1: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
O'Dea: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Ramakrishnan: {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The flop fell {6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Hearts}, giving the short-stacked player a leading pair of aces, and he held as the turn and river came {5-Hearts}, {2-Clubs} respectively. O'Dea won a 13,000-chip side pot with his pair of nines, and Ramakrishnan was knocked down to around 120,000.

Chop Suey

Brian Payne and an opponent were heads up on a board of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. There was about 90,000 in the middle, and Payne tossed out 30,000, which was enough to put his opponent all in.

The player agonized over the decision for a minute, then called. Payne unhappily showed {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for just ace-high, and was shocked to see that his opponent had {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the same hand!

"WOW!" Elliot Smith exclaimed.

The two happily chopped the six-figure pot.

McLean Can't Call

Luke McLean and an opponent took a flop of {3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}. McLean led out for a 8,725-chip bet, and his opponent went deep into the tank.

Eventually, he grabbed four yellow T5,000 chips, and splashed them forward. After raising to 20,000, he grabbed the rest of his stack, seemingly ready to commit it all. McLean folded, and the player proudly tabled {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for ace-high.

Not in the Mahmood

Four players, including Ayaz Mahmood, saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The action checked to Mahmood, who tossed out 3,100. One player called, another check-raised to 6,600, and both Mahmood and the check-caller came along for the ride.

The turn was the {10-Hearts}, the player who-check-raised immediately fired 15,000, and Mahmood instantly called. The third played folded.

The river was the {4-Clubs}, and the player immediately moved all in. Mahmood snap-folded, and is down to roughly 68,000 chips.

Raskin Gifts Glazier a Double Up

Jackier Glazier just doubled up in an interesting hand. Micah Raskin raised to 1,100 preflop and Billy Jordanou made the call. Glazier had just 11,000 chips left and decided to move all in. Raskin called after which Jordanou folded his cards.

Glazier showed {a-}{K-} and was up against the apologetic Raskin who showed {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The window card was a seven but Glazier hit a king to double up. Raskin is still in good shape while Glazier is back in the hunt with over 50 big blinds.
