Hanegraaf vs. Malka

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

An under-the-gun player opened for 6,000 and received a call from Khylon Hanegraaf in the hijack. David Malka then three-bet to 16,500 from the button, the blinds folded, and the original raise for out of the way. Hanegraaf made the call and it was heads-up action to the {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop.

Hanegraaf check-called a bet of 26,000 and then both players checked the {5-Spades} turn and {6-Diamonds} river. Malka tabled the {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a pair of treys, but it was no good as Hanegraaf rolled over the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} to claim the pot.

Mizzi Gets Some Back

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

A player in the cutoff opened to 6,500, Sorel Mizzi defended his big blind, and the Canadian check-called a bet of 5,000 on a flop of {2-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, Mizzi check-called another 13,000, and the {5-Diamonds} completed the board. Both players knuckled, and the player showed {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for fives and deuces.

Mizzi had him pipped with {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for sixes and deuces, and raked in the pot.

Newey Doubles

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Paul Newey open-shoved for 19,500 in middle position, and a player called in the small blind.

Newey: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Clubs}, giving Newey trip kings, and the player laughed.

"I think you have a chance now," he said.

The turn was the {a-Spades}, giving Newey a full house.

"I really think you have a chance now."

The two shared a laugh as the {9-Spades} completed the board, and Newey doubled to 40,000 chips.

Healy Gives a Little to Mercier

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Patrick Healy opened for 6,000 from the cutoff and received a call from Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier on the button. The big blind came along and three players took a flop of {q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}. The big blind checked, Healy continued for 9,000, and Mercier called.

After the big blind got out of the way, the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds}, which both players checked. The {4-Hearts} river saw Healy checked for a second time and Mercier bet two yellow T5,000 chips for a bet of 10,000. Healy wasted little time in calling with {q-}{j-}, but it was no good as Mercier barely had him out kicked with {q-}{k-}.

Watson vs. Lehmanski: Only One Will Survive

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We missed the betting action, but we do know that Mike Watson got his stack all in preflop holding the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and was up against the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} of Max Lehmanski. There was around 200,000 in the pot when the dealer put out the flop — {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Nothing for Watson.

The {9-Spades} turn gave him an added gutshot straight draw, but he was left wanting as the {9-Clubs} blanked on the river. Watson was sent to the rail while Lehmanski was pushed the pot.

Meanwhile, it appears Justin Walch has been eliminated from the tournament.

Powell Gets Guillentined

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

In a blind vs. blind battle, Julian Powell was all in and at risk holding {a-Spades}{2-Clubs} against Angel Guillen's {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

"Chop?" Powell asked nicely.

The flop fell {k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, giving Powell a gut-shot wheel draw, but despite how hard he chanted for a trey on the turn or river, neither the {6-Clubs} nor the {4-Diamonds} helped him.

Powell exited shy of the money, while Guillen recorded another knockout and is up to 320,000 chips.

Willcocks Off to a Slow Start

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

A short-stacked Vladimir Stepanov moved all in preflop for 22,300, and Phillip Willcocks made the call with a dominating hand.

Stepanov: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Willcocks: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Willcocks remained ahead on the flop ({8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}), and the turn ({4-Spades}), but the {j-Spades} spiked on the river to keep Stepanov alive.

He doubled to 46,000 chips, while Willocks dropped to 408,000.
