Slater Falls in 58th Place

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

"All in and a call," has been an all too familiar declaration here in Level 17.

Most recently Louis Slater got his stack of 205,000 all in preflop holding the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} only to run into the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} of Heinz Kamutzki. The action was being announced over the speakers, but it was all rather straightforward as the board ran out {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Crivell Busts Lehmanski; Nearing One Million

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Patrick Crivell
Patrick Crivell

Max Lehmanski was just eliminated by Canadian Patrick Crivell. Crivell's {8-}{8-} dominated the German's {5-}{5-}, and Crivell held up.

Crivell has been cruising on Day 3, and is now flirting with a million chips.

Chronis Survives Thanks to the River

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Khylon Hanegraaf opened for 15,000 from the button and was met by an all-in three-bet to 98,000 from Christopher Chronis in the small blind. The big folded and Hanegraaf made the call to put Chronis at risk.

Chronis: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Hanegraaf: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

It was a flip, but Chronis needed to improve to stay alive. The {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop wasn't particularly interesting, but the {Q-Spades} turn was as it gave Chronis an added flush draw. Much to his vocal delight, the flush came in when the {10-Spades} peeled off on the river.

Johnson Shoves On Mercier

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun plus one, Jason Mercier raised to 12,000. Marco Johnson reraised all in from the button for 98,500. Mercier thought about it for a little bit, then folded, and Johnson won the pot.

Crivell Over 800K

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Srdjan Brkic check-rasied to 23,000 after Patrick Crivell bet 8,000 on the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Spades} flop. Crivell called, and the turn brought the {8-Clubs}. Brkic checked, and Crivell bet 28,000. Brkic folded, and Crivell won the pot to move over 800,000 in chips.

Barer and Brkic Collide

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We picked up the action on a {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop when Ami Barer checked and Uros Brkic bet 16,000. Barer then woke up with a check-raise to 39,000, Brkic called, and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Hearts}. Barer kept the pressure on with a bet of 44,000, but Brkic refused to surrender.

When the {6-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Barer bet a hefty 106,000 and Brkic wasted little time in calling. Barer rolled over the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for trips, and Brkic sent his cards to the muck with aggression while uttering a swear word.

Say Goodbye To...

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

McNeill Moves On

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Gerard McNeill was all in for his last three big blinds or so with {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} moments ago. Heinz Kamutzki had him at risk with a lesser {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, but took the lead when the flop fell {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

McNeill received no help on the turn ({3-Diamonds}) or the river ({3-Spades}), and was off to the payout desk to collect his AUD$15,000.

Kamutzki chipped up to 350,000.

Brkic Busts Lim

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Aaron Lim was just eliminated from the tournament in 61st place.

It happened when he got his stack all in preflop holding the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} only to run into the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} of Uros Brkic. The {4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop was the first nail in Lim's coffin, while the {J-Spades} turn was the final one. Brkic turned quads to leave Lim drawing dead.

Back-to-Back Hands for Rabinowitz Results in Two Eliminations

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Just before the break, Darren Rabinowitz shot up the chip counts thanks to back-to-back hands that resulted in two eliminations.

In the first, Brendan Hurtig got his stack of 200,000 or so all in preflop holding the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and was racing against Rabinowitz's {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. It was a race, and Rabinowitz crossed the finish line after the board ran out {10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

In the very next hand, Jamie Roberts was victimized by Rabinowitz. We're not sure when the money went in, but we do know that Rabinowitz held the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} on a board reading {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} while Roberts had the {q-Spades}{10-Clubs} laid out in front of him.
