Dwyer Over 800K

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Gareth Dwyer
Gareth Dwyer

Prior to the break, Jake Balsiger, Scott Seiver, Heinz Kamutzki, and Gareth Dwyer took a flop of {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. The action checked to Kamutzki, who tossed out 20,000, and only Dwyer called.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, Kamutzki quickly fired out 55,000, and Dwyer quickly called.

A third diamond - the {7-Diamonds} - completed the board, and Kamutzki checked for the first time. Dwyer announced a bet of 70,000, and Kamutzki looked at him quizzically.

Kamutzki asked him if he understood the situation at hand, and Dwyer grinned.

"I never understand," he answered. Dwyer then cited that he makes some mistakes on the felt.

"Is this a mistake?" Kamutzki asked.

"I'm about to see," Dwyer chuckled. "You're getting four-to-one."

Kamutzki finally called, and Dwyer tabled the winning hand - {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

"I wasn't expecting that," the German admitted.

Malka Continues to Slide

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Marco Ng recently got his last 50,000 chips in the middle against David Malka.

Ng: {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Malka: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Ng wasn't in good shape after the flop of {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and he need some help to stay in the tournament. The {3-Diamonds} provided Ng with a few more outs, and wouldn't you know it, the {2-Spades} dropped on the river completing Ng's wheel and moving him up to 110,000 in chips.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Szmelcer Done and Dusted

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We missed the details, such as when the money went in, but we can confirm that Henry Szmelcer was just eliminated by Liv Boeree, who held the {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} on a {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} board. Szmelcer's cards were mucked, but he claimed to have {8-}{5-} for a flopped straight which got decimated when Boeree turned a bigger straight.

Huntly Skewered

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Dennis Huntly
Dennis Huntly

John Juanda opened for 11,000 from middle position and received a call from Luisa Helps on the button. After the small blind folded, the boisterous Dennis Huntly moved all in from the big for 26,000 total, which both his opponents called.

When the flop came down {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Juanda checked and then folded to a bet of 17,000 from Helps. Huntly tabled the {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and he was in need of some help as Helps was ahead with the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The {A-Hearts} turn was of no consequence, and neither was the {4-Hearts} river.

Hunt missed his outs and was sent to the rail in 69th place.

Rossiter jumped out to a commanding lead when the dealer fanned {9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, and Kiokpasoglou was unable to improve on the turn ({3-Clubs}) or the river ({3-Hearts}).

Off the Tracks

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Julian Track - Eliminated in the money
Julian Track - Eliminated in the money

2011 November Niner Eoghan O'Dea opened to 12,000 after the bubble burst, and the action folded to Julian Track who moved all in for 80,500. O'Dea called.

O'Dea: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Track: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The Season 10 EPT Prague champion was drawing very live, and added a handful of outs when the dealer fanned {3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The {2-Clubs} on the turn was a brick, however, as was the {9-Hearts} on the river, and Track was eliminated.

O'Dea chipped up to around a quarter of a million chips.

On an adjacent table, Michael O'Grady busted as well.
