Ricciardello vs Mishra

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Don Mishra opened from early position and was called by Jozef Ricciardello and the player on the button. On the flop {7-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Mishra led for 7,000 and called the raise to 16,000 by Ricciardello. The {Q-Hearts} on the turn saw a check-call by Mishra for 12,000 and he then led for 26,000 on the {8-Diamonds} river.

Ricciardello was afraid of pocket queens as per table chat and just called with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} to claim the decent pot and increase his stack.

The Money Bubble is Looming

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Within less than two levels, the field has been reduced from 222 to just 134 hopefuls and the top 126 spots will get paid at least A$2,975. Only a few minutes remain before the first break, so it seems unlikely that the money bubble will be played in the current level still.

Riech Back on Track

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ferench Riech stole a couple of hands and then defended his big blind against the raise of Zac Duce for 8,000. On the flop {K-}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, Riech check-called a bet of 7,500 and then fired the {8-} for 14,500. Duce called and did so again for 26,500 on the {9-} river to muck his ace-high to the {K-}{Q-} of Riech.

Zizic Busts Andreadis

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Tatjana Zizic
Tatjana Zizic

Jim Andreadis was already all in and called by table neighbor Luke Butch before Tatjana Zizic shoved over the top. The dealer pulled in all the chips and then counted the stack of Zizic on top, which amounted to 91,500. Ultimately, Butch folded and Zizic rolled over {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}.

Andreadis needed help with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} but could not get there on the board {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Updated Counts

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Benjamin Savage doubled up twice, Van Marcus lost two bigger pots with {K-}{K-} versus {9-}{10-} and {7-}{7-} versus {A-}{K-}. His table neighbor, Sammy Lucisano, lost a flip with {A-}{Q-} against pocket tens and has been eliminated.

Matsumura's Stack gets Chopped Up

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

In a three-way all in, Eiji Matsumura was all in and at risk for around 35,000 chips with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Luciano Santos de Hollanda with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and George Mandelos with {A-Spades}{K-Spades} had the Japanese covered and the board ran out {4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to ensure that the kicker plays.

Malecha Busts Lim

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Mark Malecha
Mark Malecha

Sinan Aydogan has almost doubled up his stack in less than 90 minutes and Mark Malecha also just got a nice boost after the elimination of Ricky Lim. The latter had put his hopes on {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and spiked the nut flush draw while Malecha's {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} found top set on {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

The sweat stayed alive with the {3-Hearts} turn, but the {5-Hearts} river gave Malecha a full house and sent Lim to the rail.

Swings for Cabret

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Joseph Cabret first had Rohan Makim at risk for less than half of his short stack with {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} versus {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and flopped top pair. Makim only had hit a five but the river brought a seven. Cabret then moved all in for his last 16,100 with {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and won the flip against the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} of the player in the big blind, newly arrived Michael Addamo had folded the small blind.
