Two Pair for Peters

Level 5 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

On a board of {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} we saw David Peters bet 6,200 from the big blind. Igor Kurganov made the call from the button and the {2-Diamonds} popped up on the river. Peters bet 13,600 and Kurganov snap called by tossing in a single 100 chips. Peters showed {A-Spades}{8-Hearts} for top two pair and Kurganov added the 13,500 before he mucked.

Two Pair for Mercier

Level 5 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier and 2015 GPI Player of the Year Byron Kaverman each put in 4,500 preflop and then the former checked the {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop. Kaverman did the same and then Mercier bet 5,800 on the {6-Diamonds} turn. Kaverman called and then both players returned to checking on the {4-Diamonds} river.

Mercier tabled the {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for queens and nine, which was good as Kaverman mucked.

Small One for Kurganov

Level 4 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Igor Kurganov, who finished runner-up last night in the $25K Challenge, raised to 2,500 from the cutoff only to have David Peters three-bet to 8,100 from the small blind. Kurganov made the call and then bet 10,000 after Peters checked the {6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} flop. It did the trick as Peters quickly released.

Rast Flips for His Tournament Life

Level 4 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We missed the action unfold, but we do know Brian Rast got his stack of 83,000 all in preflop and was flipping against 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Martin Jacobson.

Jacobson: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Rast: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Rast was looking to hold to ship a big double, and that's just what he did after the board ran out {2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Lucky Chewy Finishes Off Troyanovskiy

Level 4 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Vladimir Troyanovskiy got his short stack of 15,000 all in preflop and found himself racing against Andrew "Lucky Chewy" Lichtenberger.

Lichtenberger: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Troyanovskiy: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Troyanovskiy was ahead, but not after the flop came down {q-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{q-Spades}. Troyanovskiy got out of his seat after the dealer burned and turned the {5-Diamonds}, and then headed for the exit when the {9-Clubs} blanked on the river.

Sammartino Doubles Through Kho

Level 4 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The feature table in this event is amazing with the likes of Ivey, Rossiter, McDonald, Tollerene and Holz. The live stream with cards up coverage starts in about 100 minutes. The downside is that we can't get too close as we don't want to walk through the five buzzing cameras of course.

That's why we just caught a little bit of the action in a big hand just now. On a board of {5-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} it was Dario Sammartino who shoved all in. Kitson Kho made the call holding {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} but he was in dire straits as Sammartino had the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

The river came the {Q-Diamonds} and Kho was excited hitting his queen, only to realize mili seconds later that Sammartino had made his flush. Double up for the Italian, Kho now short.
