Derek Wolters Eliminated in 17th Place (AU$85,000)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Derek Wolters
Derek Wolters

Tony Dunst opened to 55,000 from first position and Derek Wolters three-bet to 150,000 from the button. Both blinds quickly released and action was back on Dunst. The WPT host four-bet to 375,000.

Wolters thought about it for half a minute or so, and moved all in for just over 1.2 million. Dunst leaned a bit forward, took a peek at his cards one last time, and said "Yeah, I call."

Derek Wolters: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Tony Dunst: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} leaving Wolters just runner runner outs. The {4-Spades} on the turn sealed the deal right away and the {K-Clubs} on the river made things official.

Derek Wolters shook Tony Dunst's hand, wished him good luck in the rest of the tournament, and headed to the pay out desk to collect his AU$85,000 cheque.

Zhang Limp and Check Shoves

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

On the five-handed table Cankai Zhang limped in from first position. Derek Wolters right behind him in the cutoff raised to 75,000 and action folded around to Zhang. He called and checked on {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Wolters bet 40,000 and Zhang shoved forward his 193,000 stack. Wolters asked for a count, thought about it for a minute, and folded.

Kuo and Honeyman Clash Twice More

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Dylan Honeyman just raised from the small blind to 60,000 and Kitty Kuo called from the big blind. The flop brought out {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Honeyman bet 75,000, which was called by Kuo.

On the turn the {5-Spades} hit and Honeyman checked to Kuo who fired out 125,000. Honeyman made the call and on the river the {9-Hearts} hit. Honeyman checked again on the river and Kuo now bet 255,000. After a while Honeyman called, and muck when Kuo showed {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the nut flush.

On the very next hand Honeyman raised from the button to 45,000 and Kuo three-bet from the small blind to 150,000. Honeyman called, and the flop brought out {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} on which both players checked. The {6-Clubs} turn was checked as well, and Kuo checked a third time on the {J-Spades} river. Honeyman bet 240,000 and Kuo folded.

Kuo Can't Bluff Lynskey

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Kitty Kuo raised to 50,000 from the hijack seat, and Alexander Lynskey three-bet to 130,000 from the cutoff position. Play folded back to Kuo, she called, and the flop came down {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Both Kuo and Lynskey checked, and the turn was the {4-Diamonds} to pair the board. Kuo bet 85,000, and Lynskey made the call.

The river was the {K-Hearts}, and Kuo fired 158,000. Lynskey made the call, and he didn't need to show to win the pot because Kuo simply mucked her hand after Lynskey called.
