Abernathy Picks Off a Small Bluff from Lynskey

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

From under the gun, Alexander Lynskey raised to 40,000. He was called by Samantha Abernathy on the button and Dylan Honeyman in the small blind before Kitty Kuo folded from the big blind and the dealer fanned the {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop. Action checked around, and the turn was the {3-Diamonds}. Again, action was checked by all three players.

The river was the {10-Hearts}, and Honeyman checked. Lynskey bet 53,000, Abernathy called, and Honeyman folded.

Lynskey showed a bluff with the {J-Spades}{7-Spades}, and Abernathy took down the pot with a pair of tens holding the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Ko Bets Big

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Derek Wolters limped in from the small blind and big blind Yuki Ko bumped it up to 70,000. Wolters made the call and check called 85,000 on {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

The {4-Hearts} hit the turn and both players checked. With the {2-Clubs} completing the board, Wolters checked again. Ko bet a hefty 293,000 and Wolters made the call after some time in the tank.

Ko showed {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, Wolters mucked.

Martin Rowe Eliminated in 18th Place (AU$85,000)

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Martin Rowe - 18th Place
Martin Rowe - 18th Place

Martin Rowe opened for 45,000 from the button only to have Tony Dunst three-bet to 135,000 from the small blind. Rowe made the call and then called a bet of 115,000 on the {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop. After the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds}, Dunst led out for a hefty 400,000 and Rowe responded by moving all in for what looked to be 825,000. Dunst looked back at his cards one last time and then made the call.

Rowe: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Dunst: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Dunst held top two pair, but Rowe was drawing live both a diamond and nine. It was a massive pot, and the dealer burned one last time before putting out the {2-Clubs}. Rowe missed and hit the rail in 18th place for an AU$85,000 payday.

The action folded to Samantha Abernathy and she moved all in from the button for 256,000. Dylan Honeyman folded from the small blind right away, and Kitty Kuo gave it some thought before calling from the big blind.

Abernathy: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Kuo: {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and Abernathy got herself back in the game after losing a massive pot versus Alexander Lynskey just a few hands ago.

Here Comes Lynskey with a Full Double Through Abernathy

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Alexander Lynskey
Alexander Lynskey

The stack of Alexander Lynskey just catapulted all the way to the top of the leaderboard, thanks two two small pots and then an absolutely huge one.

On the first hand, Lynskey limped in from the small blind, and Mikel Habb checked his option out of the big blind to see the flop come down {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Lynskey bet 22,000, and Habb folded.

On the next hand, Dylan Honeyman opened with a raise to 40,000 from under the gun. Lynskey reraised in the cutoff seat to 110,000, and play folded back to Honeyman. He also gave it up, and Lynskey won the pot.

Then, the big one happened, and here's how it went down.

Lynskey kept up his aggressive ways with a raise from the hijack seat to 40,000. Samantha Abernathy reraised to 85,000 out of the small blind, and Lynskey made the call to take the {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop. After Abernathy bet 95,000, Lynskey made the call.

The {A-Diamonds} was added to the board on fourth street, and Abernathy kept her foot on the gas with a bet of 225,000. Lynskey stuck around, and the two were delivered the {3-Diamonds} river card. Abernathy took a few moments before she looked at the dealer and announced that she was all in. Lynskey wasted little time in making the call, to which Abernathy responded by revealed her {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} for top set. Unfortunately for her, Lynskey had the {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the nut flush and his hand was the winning one.

Upon counting the stacks, it was determined that Lynskey was all in on the river for 751,000. Abernathy sent over the chips to pay him off and dropped all the way down to about 215,000 in chips.

Zhang: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
